they can make a complete azz of themselves. I just got back from a company paid vacation. There is a thin line there between company and vacation when it's a company vacation. While it was a leisure trip with no meetings, you still have to be on your somewhat best behavior as the bosses and VP's are around which is the welcome reception and farewell dinner. Yeah we all threw back some tequilas, and other drinks, but you have to know how to balance things when in their presence which was only 20% of the entire trip.

Anyway, one of my co-workers got so wasted that she was fired yesterday when we returned. She got wasted last year as well and received a warning after walking into a farewell dinner and falling down drunk. Instead of grabbing on to her hubby, she grabbed a table cloth and snatched off the majority of the china and glass set up causing all kinds of :what: :uhoh: Our boss told her to go back to her hotel room and not to come back. This year she did the same thing but worse.
She was falling all over people and everyone noticed it and got their share of her dragon breath. :shame: So it's pitiful when you go on vacation and come back to a sober Mon and learn you are no longer with the company. :smh:

They should have given her the option o going to re-hab. I thought that's what most companies do now. After the re-hab if you mess up then they terminate you.
 



How did she look? I'm suprised the office sharks didn't try to get off in dem draws. I know mofos that circle like sharks in blood filled water and try to get dem some coochie when dat isht happens.

Them mofos get on that old...."Let me take you to your room type isht !" mode, and then try and get their panties off.

Not sure if they offered her that option, however we all had the "mother hen"
talk from our boss prior to going on the trip. It's a vacation, but still company related even though we had 80% free time but drink responsibly.

Hell nawl. And to make matters worse she took her hubby with her as her guest and it was like the blind leading the blind. :smh: He was also drunk and telling all his biz. I'm afraid he may have gotten canned also. He revealed to us that he had just started a job at a car dealership a month ago and they wouldn't give him the days off to attend the trip with his wife, so he took off anyway. :uhoh: He may have gone back to get fired also. I can't imagine going on vacation, having tha great of a time to show ya azz out so bad that you get fired when you return. :shame: I just hope he didn't get fired also as that would be a double whammy.

Her hubby was with her. We all had the option of bringing a guest so no one had any excuse for being taken advantage of.
 
Stupid is as stupid does. Sometimes it's prudent to maintain yourself, regardless of the temptation to LET IT ALL FLOW!!!!!! Maybe losing her job will sober her up! :idea:
 
:shame: I've never encountered a co-worker as you describe LT. Your co-worker was warned and didn't heed the warning. Oh well...
 
Always drink soft drinks at company parties, and never close dance with co-workers because in most cases, CEOs and top managers are looking for employees they can trust. Just because they do it does not mean you can do it.

I don't attend company functions...one thing I've learned is that you don't mix business w/pleasure. I don't hang out w/co-workers, managers, etc. If it's not work related, I'm not attending.

If it's a company paid vacation, I'm not interested if I can't go and do my own thing w/o them.. :tdown:

I don't either as it can lower their respect for you and vice versa sometimes depending on what is revealed outside of work. :what: :uhoh:

As far as the company paid vacation, when I first won it, I was like umm can I go when I feel like it outisde of the dates the group is going, but they told us no cause they got a better deal as a group. As I stated earlier, majority was free time with the exception of the first night and the last night of the trip. Just had to be on decent behavior at those two functions. Not turning down an all expense paid trip for 2 people; will sacrifice those two events..unlike my ignant azz co-worker. :shame:
 



I believe all employees should attend company functions, but you don't have to drink to be socialble. If I want to be socialize I will attend a TSPN Reunion or get together on Wednesday night with the fellows.

MD, I agree totally with you. Here at the Arsenal where I work, there are not a lot of blacks. If you are too stand-offish, you will be labeled as the ABM (Angry Black Man).

I'm not saying that you have to be at every function or event, but you should try to make an appearance at some.

No, I just err on the side of caution. I have seen it too many times to count at various places where I have worked. Everytime we have a conference, mofos wanna try and get some woman drunk so they can hit it. it's all about that "What is done here, stays here mentality". Yeah, the flirting at work kinda ads to it. But her hubby should have been more observant of her behavior. He could have said stuff like....."Baby, I think you done had one too many,", and taken her out of there, well....unless he was just as twisted as she was.

And most of the "being taken of" scenarios I have seen always revolved around alcohol and partying with mofos they see everyday and flirt with.

Trust me, you were labeled the day they decided to hire you...I could care less about all that. They can think of me what they want.
 
I used to drank at company events, until my former supervisor said "someone saw you walking out of the event with a bottle of wine." In my department, I was Lone Black Woman. Although the situation was not true, it was all the black admins who rallied around me to let me know that no matter what I did, and where I was I needed to always be cognizant of the LBW status.

Now, at an event, I will drink a glass of wine, maybe, but more than likely they will be fooled with what looks like gin and tonic and is really just all tonic with a twist of lime. There is always one person at the party who thinks free liquor is really free. People will judge you on what they think they see....not what they can actually prove.

Related to the actual question, you can't help everybody. That broad got drunk last year, so you would of thought she had better sense this year. Good luck on trying to get unemployment.

They sure are...that's why I don't worry about all that. I don't have to do anything but show up and do my work.
 
Funny, you mentioned this in a thread. Because just recently a similar situation happened to me! :lol: One of the HR generalists' here where I work is really on the freaky side! Does the woman on woman stuff, sniff coke, etc......but the funny thing is that she is married and her hubby ENCOURAGES her to be this way! :shame: And YES, they are white! :lmao:

Any way, at our annual 3rd quarter meeting, our CEO bought the entire bar for us at this nice outside restaurant. My drink max is 3. I never do more than that...PERIOD. But this broad just made a complete ass outta herself. She put up about 5 mix drinks straight and that shat just snook up on her quick! :lol:

The next thing I know, her husband comes to the party and finds her with her tongue down the throat of another co-worker (girl) on the balcony of the restaurant. And what does he do......focking watches and then tells her "So yall doing it w/out me THIS TIME!!! :what: :goof: :lol: "

I was like WTF! :emlaugh: The CEO was like :shame: Everybody else just scooted on out that joint one by one especially after it was obvious that batch was just too damn freaky in public! Needless to say, that heffa came to work the following Monday only to see them walk her ass right back out that joint along with the girl she was kissing! :lol: :lol:
