I understand what you are saying, but some of these messed up black schools are in better shape, have the "best" teachers and offer some of the same stuff that their white counterparts do.
We just don't take advantage of it. Three of our top schools are viewed as white schools yet 70-80% of the kids are black and from the very hoods that the ones who are screwing up are from. A lot of the elementary schools in the hood are some of the best schools in DISD.
In fact I'll put it to you all like this-it's not every black kid that is ruining most of these schools. It's actually a small number doing it, it is just that at some schools the knuckleheads outnumber the ones that want to make it.
See the ones who are making it aren't the issue-it's the ones who don't. What teachers are going through now is that they are being blamed for kids failing and it's not really there fault.
The state says 50 out 75 of your kids failed. You are a bad teacher. They don't look at the outside factors. They don't look at gangs, home life, skipping school, drugs, racism or anything else. They look at the bottom line.
That's why white schools will run every single black dummy out of their schools. And teachers will run out of every bad black school.
And I am not uppity. You want uppity go talk to those black leaders, pastors and college educated folk that yelled about Spruce getting shutdown, why are so many of us in alternative education programs and Darrell Arthur Grade Scandal.
YET these folks were nowhere to be found when Spruce was screaming for community help, teacher getting the axed last year, this grading policy that let a kid miss the entire semester and still pass with a 70, black kids killing black kids, white kid killing a black boy and showed NO REMORSE, Hispanic kids getting Rodney Kinged by black kids (20 on 1), little girls getting raped in school, 18 year old 6th graders, why over 70% of the low performing schools in DISD are black or why programs that WANT to help kids are getting blocked or banned by some of very own black adminstrators.
These are the uppity folks whose kids are in private, charter or white schools. These are the ones who are uppity thinking that this mess doesn't hurt them. They are the ones that look down on these kids and won't help.
