During pre-season, I predicted that GSU would go undefeated. Most folk laughed and thought I was just running smack. But I honestly felt and still feel that this team will go undefeated.

I had gotten some comments from my son and several players that were joining the team this year. I knew about the returning talent and once I heard about how the guys were working out...I knew it was gonna be a special season.

Another thing===> Doug Williams loves to shut up the naysayers. Even during the college years, it was what seemed to motivate him and push him to success. I knew that as a coach, he still wanted to shut up his critics.

In other words: The SWAC is in trouble!!!!

Gotta co-sign you on this one!!!

Hey MikeB,

I sent an e-mail to Beder(writer for The News-Star, Monroe) at the beginning of the season and he was expressing some doubt as to an undefeated season, however, I told him at the end of the season he would need to make a correction. I asked which teams he thought would beat the G-MEN; he listed five(5) teams including FAMU. Well, here it is late October and its only one more team on the schedule that he mentioned and we will definitely take care of that one next month!!!

unless Grambling has a bad game, I think Southern is the only team left that may just beat them. Not because SU has a "better" team, but with the emotion of Bayou Classic and the 8 game winning streak, Grambling has some things to overcome. Southern will probably be the only team going into the game "knowing" that they can take Grambling out.

Reluctantly, I must agree with Lewis. At least in terms of SU being the team that has the best chance. On paper and from what has transpired so far, GSU should end the streak. But we all know that games are not won on paper.

Doug will have to be sure to let the guys know that it's just another game...while also emphasizing that it is not just another game. I know that's contradictory, but that's the issue as I see it.
The Gmen have to go into this one playing to win...not playing not to lose!
