Yep,....
Alabama State University played it after every touch down. I think it was about 3 or 4 years ago. They played it at the SWAC Championship against Grambling. Around that time they also played Jill Scott's "Is It The Way"

I defintely would have remembered that and I have been to every SWAC championship game. I know they played The Way, but never remember them playing Lovely Day... that is A&Ms signature song.

How old are you....because you acting senile.

Yes Grambling has played both A&M and Bama State at the SCG. Yes A&M played Lovely Day at their SCG against yall, and Bama State played Jill Scott at their SCG. I think you're confused and got the schools confused. But ASU does not, did not, and never played the song.

Uh...........I believe he crabbed the same year you did. :bump:

Either way, this is the same person who INSISTED that we come on the field like GSU.

Sorry Legend, but I had to brang up old shat!! :flippy: :D

Yvette,...
You went to school at ASU. Now, what does it say to you when I know more about what your band is doing than you do????

Prof K.,...where you at???? Confirm to these people what I'm talking about.
I know SWAC Bands. More importantly, I know Alabama State almost as much as I know Grambling.

Please send me an Address on a pm so I can send you a copy. :smh:

They always claim I don't know what I'm talking about.
Tell me ,...why yall don't believe what I'm saying until someone else comes along and confirms it.
Maybe I need to change my name to Rodney Dangerfield or the one who cried wolf.

If you have the GSU vs Alabama St Univ. in 2001 in the Gump then thats a time I can sorta remember them playing it. I think they played it after the game but I could be wrong, It was so long ago. As far as AAMU, I thought "Ring My Bell" was their signature song! I remember them playing that on us at the SCG in ooooooooooooooooo I guess it was 2000. If was a life line on "Who wants to be a Millionaire" then I would have to say I'm about 51% sure that Ala. St. Univ. plays A Lovely Day.

That is certainly correct!!!!
I found it last night!!!!

Luv ya Yvette but,...you owe me and apology for calling me ignorant (in not so many words).

Maybe later i'll say what is really bothering me about these types of situations but,....I'm very busy today.

I don't call myself Legend for nothing.

Life is too short for needless battles but, my intellect and integrity is insulted.

I don't owe you shat but this=============> :fart:

If anything, u insulted my itelligence about my OWN dayum program just because I've never them heard play ONE song during the ONE year that I only attended three games: ASU/AAMU 01, ASU/GSU 01 (both the regular game and the SWAC Championship). I have stand footage that I filmed MYSELF of all those games except the SWAC Championship and I STILL do not recall ASU playing "Lovely Day." :smh:

However, according to one of my babies you all know as Ohatheking, ASU DID play "Lovely Day" a few times in 01 and they never played it again. So obviously, they didn't play it enough times for me, Snake and Dahill to remember cause if that were the case, we would have said something. And from what I understand, they didn't play it enough times for it to even be considered a "stand favorite." He!!, ASU is not known for playing "Lovely Day;" AAMU is known for it.

But since you are a man and men love to have their precious EGOS stroked from time to time, well here is your ONE time from me- you were right. Happy?

Something is better than nothing.
Like Spock said,..."You have me under false pretentions. I have no ego to bruise." Well,...maybe just a little. ;)
The title of this thread is called: "What Stand Songs Do You Like"?
Speaking for myself as a musical consumer,...Alabama State was the first band I ever heard play that song. Naturally, I loved it because of Mr. Oliver's tatical approach. Though they were out gunned that day,... I loved that song as well as their interpretation of "Filling On Your Booty".

Speaking of being right,...Prof K,

I took up our argument with the thoerist.

All I have to say is the G fits the chord better than the A!!!!!! You still owe me $10,000 so SHOW ME THE MONEYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Theoretically, you would be correct but, that is not what the artist is doing and your way is not very pleasing to the ear. Theoretically, I would also be correct due to passing tones. Chromatically, B-Flat is clashing with the B natural but, not for long!!!! Also,...You wanted me to end the phrase on a G yet, he's ending on an A. Once again both approaches will work but, I will not mess up the man's song by changing it for the purpose of political correctness. Both concepts will work but, my way is easier on the ear.

So,.,..I guess no one wins. You get no $10,000 and I won't share my cookies from Yvette. I will however,... give you a good butt kicking on the green with my band!!!! :slap:

Well,...there it is!!!!!

Gettin' back to the topic at hand,...

School: Alabama State University.
Location: Montgomery Alabama
Mascot: Mighty Marching Hornets
Song(s): "Filling On Your Booty","You Bring The Freak Outta Me" 1982.

O.K., I see your point! A major 2nd is more pleasing to the ear than a perfect unison  !! I see the light!! Praise HIM (Throughs hands in the air and does a holyness dance)!!! If you remember corectly we bet on the B flat and B natural not the A versus the G. We can set up an easy payment plan for you if you like and cash is ALWAYS acceptable!!!! :hat: You kick my butt on the green????? And then you woke up from that dream :uzi: :dead: !!!!! 19. You're gonna love me.....just change that chord at the fermata. Bass need to resolve up.

If another person says this shat, the chord WAS resolved you just could not hear it because of all the applause. Shat I was in the band and could barely hear it from the noise the crowd was making.

It would appear to me that you'd arranged it.
Alright,...could you please spell out the chord for me please?
Otherwise it was bad on the ear and the Tuba's should have resolved up.
Thank You
Have a Good Weekend. :shades:
