WHAT HAPPENED TO THE JUANITA BYNUM THREAD

It really doesn't matter if she ignored or adhered to the spirit, NOBODY deserves to get beat down, choked and kicked. That's just ridiculous!

Well if the Spirit said "let it be" and she decided to follow him, then it's her fault. If not, that's like Spirit saying Dr. H., do not mess with those " hookers" and I do so, who's fault is it mine or the hookers if I catch AIDS?

Then there is the "spirit" if she listen to that one and not the Spirit, it's still her fault.

People have to stop blaming others and look at themselves. Whenever I make a mistake, I blame myself and not others.

Please remember that everyone that stands in the pulpit is not a " Genuine Christian." I think sometimes we are too quick to say a person is a "Genuine Christian" as the scriptures say's "A tree is known by the fruit it bears" Some of the biggest fakes I know stand in the pulpit Sunday after Sunday after Sunday preaching the Gospel of Christ. True Christanity, is reflected by the life we live.

Wow! For real, you really believe this.

Absolutely! If Rev. Weeks was angry enough to leave the table and walk off, he could have continued on to his car whether his wife was following him, shouting at him or whatever. There is no justification for someone to become so enraged as to behave in that manner.

A person would have one time to snap on me and I can guarantee he wouldn't be able to get within 50 feet of me if I saw him first, and reconciliation would be out of the question.

Even Genuine Christians are still not "perfect" though, they have flaws, they make mistakes, and sometimes they don't listen to what the spirit has to say. Show me one "perfect" Genuine Christian on this earth and I'll show you a one million dollar bill. We all should be pressing and striving.

I often agree, sometimes disagree, but always enjoy reading your comments and I always respect where you are coming from. You are REAL in the word and the comment above is your best yet...and it was a part of a powerful prayer!

 Sometimes we all get spiritually pissed-off. I have a pastor friend who was unfaithful to his wife and I needed a "term" to express how I feel. THANKS!

Seeing Spots, I might have heard about that. Hope everything is o.k. with that.

SS,

I'm just about being real with God. It's not like you can con Him. So, I just tell Him how I feel so He can fix me and help me to deal with it. As I often remind our congregation, God has no problem with the way that we feel. But sin often comes about when we make the choice of what to do about how we feel.

I disagree with God on many things. I know He is right and there are areas where I still get in my stinkin' flesh and don't want to do what He says. He knows it and I know it. When I confess it, He can help me to deal with it. When I try to hide it, it is only hidden from me, and that is when I deceive myself.

I never said that she deserved t o be beat. Am I supporting him, absolutely not? However, you don?t ever, ever put yourself in a situation like this. I know most will support her, because they are fans of hers. I am not, and really did not know that she was married and could care less.

I read somewhere that she had been previously married and was in an abusive relationship. If true, in my humble opinion she should have learned from her previous relationship. And I would imagine this was not the first time he has hit her. Come on, you would have think from her previous encounters with him, she would have known and observed the signs of an abusive spouse.

I am saying she put herself in the position to be abused. Not only has God given us Spiritual Sense we also have something call common sense and street sense.

Regardless of who is at fault? You don?t ever put yourself in the position to cause harm or hurt to yourself. I often hear people say ?I have God on my side and he will protect me? True, only if you are innocent. However, I have never read in the bible where it alludes to the fact that ?If I am stupid or put myself in a position that will cause harm or hurt to myself God will protect me? I am a firm believer in the LORD, however I know if I jump out of my office window and hit the pavement below, I am going to be killed? could God had protected me? Absolutely, but He did not, why? Because He has laws of nature in place and He has blessed me with spiritual and common sense to know better.

You may not have said she deserved it, but you did say this:

And you think God only "protects you if you're innocent?" I don't know about that. I know of plenty of times where things could've gone the wrong way, and I was definitely in the wrong--- and God still shielded me from harm.

1st Off, we all know that even as ministers of the gospel, we are saved by grace.

2ndly - Gifts and callings are without repentance

3rdly - We have to guard against the spirit of distraction that will get the Body of Christ focused on gossip instead of prayer.

WOW Dr. H. I pray that you are not a counselor at your church...:smh: Christianity is based off of GRACE & MERCY.

GRACE = God doing for you, what you don't deserve.
MERCY = God not doing to you, what you do deserve.

GRACE + MERCY = God's love, protection, forgiveness being there for we when we do stupid things, including putting ourselves in bad situations

God saved us when we were in the WRONG, God is there for us now even when we're WRONG.

Grace / Mercy as christians we have both. God applies them both according to His own will. If he allows something bad to happen to a child, a spouse, a parent or whatever, it is for a reason. (the reason is not for holier than thou christians to judge)

We all do stupid things as God children. That's when we need Him the most. To say that when we do stupid things God won't help us is as backwards as you can get when describing our relationship with God. Parents can understand this.

I believe this...

I said genuine Christian, not perfect. Don?t put words in my mouth.

Ok, her husband removed himself from the conversation [for whatever reason] ?because he was angry? had he has a right to do so, and that was the right thing to do. Yes he could have gotten into his car and drove away. On the other side of the coin, she knew he was angry, knowing this, why didn?t she remain in the restaurant until he left. Now, if he ambushed her, then he is 100% wrong. But if she followed him and continued the conversation after he removed himself from the conversation, then she is wrong. Why didn?t she just respect his wishes and let him go. It?s apparent that she was also angry enough to follow him. (Right)

The problem is none of us heard the conversation of witnessed the events in the parking lot.

And I will continue to stand by my statement ? ?you don?t ever put yourself in a situation that may cause harm to yourself.? If I jump in a pit full of rattlesnakes, I am going to get bit. Who is responsible the snake or me. There are certain streets in Nashville, I do not walk down, if I do and get my head busted, is it my fault or the dude that hit me. If I decide to snort cocaine and die from an overdose, is it my fault or the cocaine. I am diabetic, I have to maintain my weigh, exercise and take my medication. If I decide not to take my medication and end up going into a coma or permanently damaging my vital organs, I guess it?s the medication fault.

True story: Several years ago, my grandfather loaned ?Ms. Liddy some money, she told him to stop by the weekend so she could pay him. He goes by her home, she?s working in her garden with a hoe and drunk. He?s in the car and say?s Ms. Liddy,do you have my money. She says no, he said ? well you ask me to stop by this weekend, so I am here to get my money. She get ?P? off and starts an argument. After a few words are changed, she says ?Anthony, if you want your money come over here and get it? He says, Ms. Liddy, you?re drunk and if you think I am coming over there, so you can chop me with that hoe, you are a daymn fool.

This is a case where he just used ?good old common sense? he knew, Ms. Liddy would have chopped him with that hoe.

We have to take the responsibility for ourselves.

This situation reminds me of what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 6:12; 10:13

"All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient":

Yes, it was "lawful" for her to leave and follow him. However, her following him was not "expedient" it was not profitable, it did not bring them together, it did not contribute to the situation in order to help the situation.

For those interested, Juanita Bynum will appear TONIGHT on TBN?s Praise the Lord at 7pm PST and 9pm CST. Click below for more details!

Whether she ran up behind him or not, she didn't deserve to be beaten, kicked, and stomped by a MAN. That is sickening, (not judging him) especially for a Man of God, that vowed to love, and cherish her until death.

I agree. It seems like he trying to justify her getting beat down. :smh:

Was this the first time he abused her?

Yes or No

For those sisters that have been slapped / abused by their spouse or "boyfriend" after the first or second incident. Where there indicators from him that he was in the process of doing the same thing?

My point is she knew this man was upset and was subject to abousing her. As long as they have been married, she should have known all the indicators. And if she did and followed him, she placed herself in the position to be abused.

Whether it was the first time or not, he should have never placed his hands on her the 1st, 2nd, 3rd through the last time. So I guess its
still right for him to abuse her just because she ignored the indicators.
You have got to be kidding me.

Look stop putting words in my mouth, did I say it was "ok or right" for him to abuse her? Please cut and paste where I said, it was ok for him to abuse her.

Once again, whether anyone agrees with me or not [I don't care], knowing this man's history of being abusive, she placed herself in the position of being abused. She knew when he left the restaurant he was angry and when he?s angry he ?goes off.? So why not just stay in the restaurant, allow him to go about his business and attempt to rectify the situation later. It would have taken only ten minuets for him to leave the restaurant, start his car and be on his way.

Was she angry, more than likely she was?

How many of you have been angry at your spouse after a heated conversation has ended? One of you continued to agitating the other. One says to the other ?Honey or *&*** leave me a lone and either you do or you don?t? Now, most of the time the one will leave the conversation, if the other continue to argue, more than likely some physical touching will take place. So who was the agitator, continue to mock and run off at the mouth.

Folks, this is not difficult to understand, this is nor Plasma Physics were discussing. The problem is so many are caught up in Juanita Bynum; you cannot look at the entire situation. This woman followed him; it was not him following her. Why didn?t she get in her car and leave?

If the situation was reversed and she hit him with an object, how many would be saying she was wrong for hitting him? Very few, some will be saying ?He should not have followed her. And I would have hit him, if that had been me?.

Some of you sisters have been in abusive relationships and you the indicators of an abusive spouse / companion. You know when he is about to act a fool, so you leave him alone. You and the kids go shopping or somewhere out of his reach. An hour or so later, he calls and apologize. Ok, so you return home and all is well. However, you are mentally and physically alert watching his every move.

Does anyone agree this could have been avoided if she had remained in the restaurant, allowing him time to leave the parking lot? Has any of the sisters have ever allowed their spouse or male companion to ?just leave? in order to avoid any type of physical or verbal abuse. I know you will not "raise your hand" or say yes I have been in that situation and I had to leave, if not he would have hurt me and the children.

Come on get out of the Juanita Bynum mentality and look at the entire situation. I know some of you agree with me.
