What are the chances that SU vs. JSU becomes the "new" Capital City Classic?

Why does it have to be every year? Our stadium can accomodate everyone...

:lmao:

Because the Superdome is a neutral site and a much bigger venue than Mumford or Memorial. I don't think there's a stadium in the State of Mississippi that can accomodate as many people as the Superdome.

Lets do the math:

Superdome
Capacity 80,000
Average ticket price $25.00
Revenue $2,000,000.00
Dome rental cost $(250,000.00)
Profit $1,750,000.00
Split between both schools $875,000.00

Memorial
Capacity 50,000
Average ticket price $25.00
Revenue $1,250,000.00
Profit $1,250,000.00
Split between both schools $625,000.00

Any business conscious person would know the Dome would make way more sense.

didn't they try that in 2002 and 2004

One more thing. Quit comparing yourself to OleMiss or any other SEC school. Under no circumstances is your situation similar to theirs. But since that's what you like to do lets look at what LSU did last year. LSU could have told Jerry Jones and Oregon "we have a 90k seat stadium and vendors and a business community to take care of." That's what they would have said if they thought like y'all.

But they didn't, they actually have sense and they aren't drinking the same poisonous water you other folks in BR are drinking.

Dude, you are way off base. LSU didn't give up a home game for that Oregon game. That was an out of conference game. No way they move LSU vs Alabama to a bigger place or LSU vs Tenn or Florida. You don't move a conference game to your rivals stadium because their stadium is bigger or for money. It is the principal of the matter. You want SU fans to say fugg Baton Rouge and come to Jackson and line the Jackson businesses and vendors for a payday that if SU mofos who are in charge got off their arses could make on their own games at home for the year and if they develop relationships with the business community and get the enrollment back up where it used to be. It aint rocket science. You don't sell out your people like that. TC is a damn attorney. He aint no super star businessman. What he did was alienate the community and some alums who give as much money as he does. You just don't do that isht. And yes you can compare our schools to the PWCs on that note. Not the money aspect. But on the principal aspect. Playing an OOC classic game at Jerry world is a totally different animal than moving a conference game from your home field to your opponents home field. Neutral field I can see.

If I ran my job in corporate America like you think. I would be fired. LOL.

But that's just it. It aint about accommodating everyone. Your capacity is your capacity. If 80K people wanted to see SU vs JSU then they could not sit in Memorial. Now I know that is a huge number and surely a stretch. But the point is, that no school is supposed to accommodate the visiting fans. My other alma mater could care less if Michigan fans can't get no more than 10-15K in the Shoe in Columbus. The other 90 plus thousand will be Ohio State folks. LSU doesn't care if their stadium aint big enough to house all of their fans and all of the opposing fans. We know that Mumford can't accommodate 40 thousand folks for the SU vs JSU game. But it aint about that. Your stadium holds what it holds. Folks get their tickets and deal with with it at every school that plays football. Trust me, there are lot of folks pissed off that they can't get into that OSU/Michigan game no matter where it is. But neither school would allow the other to host that game every year. Even though Michigan's stadium is bigger. It could be 200K and they would not move that game to Ann Arbor every. Hell even the Naval Academy wouldn't allow Notre Dame to say you got to play us in South Bend every year because your stadium is smaller than ours. LOL. Hell they are taking that game to Ireland this year. ND gave up their home game in that big stadium to go play in Ireland. Win win for both schools. GR proposes us to just play at your stadium. Not both schools coming up with a plan to play that game at a neutral site for $$$$$$$$$ I would be okay with that. But then you get the promoters involved which we all know is not a great thing and messes up a great rivalry between our schools. I like the home and home with yall better.

Sure they did, but it started when jSU begging azzes wanted to keep the game at Memorial, which is not a neutral site. The Superdome and Independence Stadium are neutral sites.

Yes, keep the alternating schedule. I actually saw fear in the eyes of the JSU fans by me when the crowd started going crazy. They didn't know how to handle the atmosphere of Mumford. All those years of playing in Memorial Stadium, shielded them. lol. I don't know where all of this talk about accomodating fans is coming from. Everyone knows our stadium seats 28,000-30,000 fans, if you want to attend the game, then you need to get your ticket early. SU doesn't care about accomodating JSU fans, ya'll are the visitors.

Thank you. They want the red carpet to be laid out for them. If you talk about how much you hate coming somewhere then stay at home.

I think Tigerpride came down here, and one man pulled his shoulder and he said its just a game. :lmao:

Mumford was boring as hell last year.

The two by me probably are on this site too, they were talking all this noise about dropping 40 on us at halftime and sending everyone home by halftime. They were in hush mode until the closing seconds of the 4th quarter. Yet JSU is supposedly dominating us. lol

Having a smaller venue than total fans for your big games sells season tickets. Even though we do well enough at home, playing our biggest games (TnSU, BCU) has hurt our season ticket base. If folks want to see you play JSU and get a good seat, they can buy a season ticket. Damn these walk up game day sales we depend on.

Why you listening to JROCK... in 2000, JSU fans represented. In 2002, we beat em so bad, that only JSU fans were left at the buzzer. In 2004, it was a **** year and by then JSU and SU sucked.. made no sense to move the games.

Tell the truth and shame the devil. You know doggone well jsu fans are not going anywhere but to Memphis. Playing jsu anywhere in Louisiana would not net formidable numbers and it would be a bad monetary investment. I simply would not move the game from The Ace......Sell out Mumford for 5 years in a row and we might be able to have this conversation in 2022.

As soon as you get a decent team, JSU fans will care again. Until then.

Im still trying to figure out why JSU fans act so sadity, like Jackson is the next Beverly Hills......all that crying and complaining is starting to change the face of Black College Football

Best High School football games to watch are between the Schools in the HOOD!!!...It has that similar feel to Black College Football

Thats what made our football so great in the past....Being around our people...doing what we do.....Ill admit...i like watching LSU football on tv.....and they tailgate BIG!!!....but it still ain't nothing on a Good ol SU tailgate.....:tup::tup: @ Alcorn....for sticking to our roots!! ....I have been to Middle School games and the schools had no where to sit....but we stood up and watched a hell of a game.....Jackson ain't no different from any other school in the swac....Jackson is the HOOD 2!!!!.....Lets get out of this cry-baby era and get back to BCF

Preach Brother!!!!!!!!!!!! I got roasted on here when i made that thread about BCF is boring and hard to watch.

Well watch something else....if you don't believe in your own product then no one will, and further more never will it grow....some things in life are what they are, but it is the hype and belief in it by the people who take ownership of it that sells it....If your play is to criticize and gloat on how bad your own is and get off on that, then where does that help...how about positively promoting it and attracting some folks to it, bring in money and attention and therefore growing it...why don't we try that....

If folks have eyes. how can you criticize them for seeing.

Guess you missed the point I was making...Spin works...ask the republicans....lol....I mean ask any poor republican in America...the policies of their party don't even include them, but they have been sold on that crap and will support and defend it till death....so don't tell me that you can't spin negative sh!t and make it look positive....at least long enough to get enough support to where you can correct the flaws....

and for the record our product is not that bad! So spinning it should not be half as hard as it is to spin Republican BS...

If folks have eyes. how can you criticize them for seeing.

It is done for three main reasons.

1. They criticize because they themselves can not see.

2. They criticize because they can not understand what others see.

3. They criticize because they do not want to see the truth for what it is.

And we dont get better because we are satisfied with an inferior product.

But Cliff I never said be satisfied....I said work on and fix your flaws....but all the while positively promoting your product....you never win by trashing it and spitting negative comments about it. That is a cancerous situation, cause I mean Spin works negatively as well...
