SWAC football has a 7-game conference mandate.
The SWAC and MEAC could mandate that each member team must play 1 opponent from the opposing conference.
Without the conference mandate there are no assurances that each member team would comply.
Conference administration could assist with ancillary responsibilities and scheduling.....or not.
It's a pipe dream at best.
The funny things is we bash our own product to smithereens, but when there are opportunities to really showcase HBCU football with good matchups that are financially beneficial to both schools ... we find 10 reasons why that shit sucks before coming up with one reason why that shit is awesome.

My understanding may be bad but its "gooder" than his ability to comprehend. I got sucked into the vortex and entertained dialogue with one that had no chance of being productive or objective. I'm too old to be making these type of mistakes, lesson learned.I don’t see what the confusion is about what BraveMan97 is saying. Everyone knows our commissioner is lazy but at the same time we want him to do better. What’s hard to understand about that? Lol. I guess I got some bad understanding too. Oh well lol
.
The problem would be the Meac require 8 conference games and that gives them 3 ooc games to schedule. If you take their option for one of those ooc games away they only have to schedule 2 ooc games. I don't think that it's a bad idea only if the Swac was the same with the 8 conference games and 3 ooc games. It would be a balanced schedule for most schools as they could play 1 FBS school (money game) and have the Swac/Meac game and then 1 other game.
So on point.....
Don't they schedule who plays in the Swac/Meac Challenge? IJS

@BraveMan97
If you're Southern, and you see the possibility to play FAMU in Atlanta in 2019 ... you'd jump on it right?
If you're Grambling, and you see the possibility to play NCAT in either a home-and-home, or let's say Chicago ... you'd jump on it right?
If you're Alcorn, and you see the possibility of a home-and-home with Bethune Cookman ... you'd jump on it right?
I know there are other things to consider ... and a lot of us bitch and moan about nonconference football. But if their is a chance to make money without it being an FBS team, we should look at it, right?
Nope ESPN does lasted I checked.
Hot Damn!Nope, it comes from the conference. They put out feelers from the schools and go from there.

I beeeeeeeeeen said these conferences should link up and play one another, but folks were reaching for every excuse in the books, talking bout some traveling expenses and other crazy stuff.
Man we need to form our "own" and start building from within. Black folks make things go anyway. It may take some time to see the results we want but if you schedule good matchups then the results will come faster
Last 2 years, we should have seen NC A&T vs Southern Willie Quinn/Tillery vs Tohren (or whatever that guy name is) That should have been a home-home series.
We gotta create our own
That's Tarik Cohen of the Bears ...
But, the writing is on the wall. These money games are going to dry up eventually, and we can't get caught with our proverbial draws down.
The schools SHOULD be looking at ways to make money and fill a nonconference schedule spot. That's killing two birds with one stone. And yes, the conference offices SHOULD encourage those matchups, especially since they're selling the Celebration Bowl as the ultimate goal.
Exactly,
I'd include other black schools such as Fort Valley and other small schools, if it was up to me, I'd put for my non conference games, nothing but black schools.
I'm speaking for SU, nobody wanna see a dayum ULL or NWST or any of them cac schools on the schedule.
That's the 1st step, getting them cac schools off the schedule.
2nd step is marketing the dayum games, we do a piss poor job, we need creative minds to bring ideas to put butts in the seats, stop thinking it's 1998 and crap and thinking ppl are going to show up just cuz (no they aint coming out like that anymore), we got ads (SU) being blasted on max 94.1 around 1:00 p.m. (who is listening the radio at that time of the day?) just stop that crap. Nobody under 28 listens to the radio, and those that do listen to it, they aint listening to it at that time of the day.
