Looking at that first program (1964).....It said that Alcorn colors used to be blue and gold. I knew quite a few of those players on Alcorn roster. Some were coaches at Valley back in the day and others were local high school coaches. Houston Markham was a coach at Ala. State.

Oldest program available PV vs Wilberforce in 1947 in San Francisco

State Fair Classic vs Wiley 1964

Pv vs Jackson 1955

On that Jackson College program, what kind of offense was yall running PV? The box?

I noticed it mentioned blue and gold as Alcorn colors but I just assumed it was an error. One of my high school principals was PV's qb in that '65 program

It was nice to see the family's little towns represented on a lot of those former super squads. Another differing thing was how large the enrollment PV had in the mid-60s, considering it was in the boonies (~3600 or so). Seems like it trended high, then started to reach new lows once "assimilation" hit in the late 60s/early 70s, leveled off until the start of the 90s. Remarkable.

I noticed at PV, the homecoming activities and dances would start on Friday and Saturday nights and lasted to 7:00 a.m. the next morning....(breakfast dances...lol)

Remind me of the old tent parties we had at PV in the late 80's and early 90's...

PV tradition. Folk w/ no stamina were laying all out on the sidewalks trying to get a nap in before the game later on lol.

I noticed how SU put that trash-talk into their gameday programs. They talk trash a loooooooooooooooooong time. (thinking of my paternal aunt - RIP. she was a TRUE diehard Jag) My aunt was a librarian for well over 45+ years and the only one I knew who packed a pistol and talked more cash shit than anyone I ever met in life. lol

It would start out as grass under the tents but by Sunday morning it was all dirt....your nose would be full of dirt....🤣🤣🤣 The good ole days!!

Y'all had tents. We had the lil' gym and then baby dome lol. Mannnnnnnnnnnnn.....

We had to have those big Circus style tents because a lot people from Houston would come to Hill for homecoming... people everywhere. The 3rd coast rap scene was at its peak....Ghetto Boys and UGK would frequent campus. DJ Premier from Gang Star (PV Grad) did the homecoming tent parties for many years.... It was some good times on the hill...😁

Premier went to PV?

Premier went to PV?
His father was Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences during our stint there. Chris is good peeps. Comes from a stroooooong family. Dean Martin was trying to mold him into an EE major and Chris wasn't having that. lol

While we are playing trivia... Did all also know that the artist known as "Travis Scott," his paternal grandmother was a tenured professor for too many years @ PV and also his aunt attended during my and Chris's years? 👀

All those famous people produced from that PV era: Terry, Chris, Senora, Fiyah's raggedy ass, ... and ol' Bewild was in the backdrop sippin' on "perfect vision." (md 2020)

Warren Moon was spotted a few times on campus trying to check up on his ... lol, his sister (real sister). :D Unsure if those other Houston "Earlers" were coming around, throwing salt in us broke undergrads' game. 😂😂😂

*statute of limitations reached yet?*

I always knew he was from the area but I didn’t know he went to college there. Good stuff
