Video show Rutgers coach abusing players

Them band geeks cant haze but coach Rice can haze his basketball team? lol some of y'all sound silly
Nevermind y'all carry on:read:

Those band geeks, the Greeks all have a place on cow dung mountain as far as I'm concerned along with the Rutgers coach.

But Rutgers aint winning shat though... thats a PROBLEM!

The assistant reported it... and i believe in order to protect himself he had practices recorded for proof later on. Considering administration was hesitant to handle the situtation.
Those sorry ass P.O.S. players didnt report a thing :lmao: They were too busy losing and being called faggot-cunt-bytches smdh lol
He was kicking the shat out of them and beaming basketball at their heads Good Lawd! :|

It doesn't matter if Rutgers was winning. That behavior would still be uncalled for.

When all the leverage and power is in the corner of the coach stuff like that is allowed to manifest.

i only mentioned winning because he mentioned they (his highschool) won a championship game or something with an abusive coach lol
his logic is coaches who beat their kids win championships. but thats not Rutgers case

+1. smh

I agree w/ u 100%.

It's sorta not that simple. Unless, you have evidence and witnesses at your disposal, it's tough to snitch on the coach. You don't want to be that guy who gets his scholarship snatched either.

Plus, people in general tend to fall in line. If one person steps up, they all will. If not, nobody will.
Not really ken. There are some of us who do not submit to verbal or physical abuse regardless of what current avenue for potential gain is presented :smh:.

:emlaugh:  +1 I don't understand the "you can hit me because you have something I want and I'll submit to you" mentality. :smh: Respond in like manner if not 10x harder. WT....

The coach should've been fired. The AD needs to be fired. And the president needs to be fired for allowing this WHEN he INSTANTLY knew about the situation :read:.

The asst coaches who were terminated will probably have an out of court settlement, I'm sure. Too much negative press towards the university makes it look pretty bad.

POP's you played football so this is common practice for several coaches. But I've been around basketball all my life and at may highschool and college practices and this is uncalled for in basketball. In basketball you can just make your kids run, suicides, sprints, ect to make your point. These kids did not snitch so they are not soft in your book but this dude is out of control in todays college sports. He was nuts. They firing coaches for pushing kids on the bench this is way worse.

And the AD was trying to justy his actions talking about counseling and 3 game suspension...SMH

The coach and the AD need to fired and arrested. The president or the school board better do something before this blows up like the Penn State mess. In two years they will have the RPI of an average SWAC or MEAC school. We should try to schedule them for a money game that we are capable of winning.

Soft azz kids are snitching on coaches... smh

33 you and I usaually agree on these things when they come up....but this goes a little bit too far for even my taste and yes these kid's are soft as hell I still say!

I stand by what I said.

I have no problem with coaches yelling at players. A little physical contact to be used as instruction is fine as well. I've experienced my fair share of verbal chastisement during my meager athletic career. But when you belittle or get overly physical with the athletes such as Rice (or any other coach past or present) you lose all respect as a coach or authority figure. You are a bully at that point, and are abusing your position of authority. I don't care how many games are won in the process. You have to treat the athletes with respect at all times.

+1. I agree wholeheartedly enswac! But I'm LOL'ing @ your comment of them having an RPI of a SWAC or MEAC school. Damn lololololololololol. :emlaugh:  :lmao:

uuum Anderson bought JSU up here a few years ago and whooped them. :lecture:

How many times does JR have to say they don't make 'em like they used too. LOL.

Seriously in this case, dude was WAYYYYYYYY out of line. You can't do the stuff he was doing and think it is right or good for the kids. Totally wrong way to do stuff. Hell Matt Doherty got run from UNC for being that way verbally. Just too demonstrative.

Rutgers needs to fire these folks anyway before they come to the Big Ten in 2014. Once they get there, they will have to be better off basketball wise. They will hire a better coach as they will be sharing in bigger revenues than they currently are. No way a school in NJ should be sad in Men's basketball.

ain't nothing soft about reporting a cat throwing damn basketballs at kid's heads, kicking them, and etc. These are some of the same reasons I don't like Bobby Knight. People can glorify that blowhard all they want to, but not me. All Knight was was a hypocritical turd. I can't stand do as I say not as I do type folks.

My question would be, what would happen if a Rutgers player was fouled hard, and took the ball and fired it off the opponent's head??? Everybody would be all up in arms, but where did he learn that kind of behavior?????? How are you gone stress discipline but you don't show self-discipline yourself????

I agree with 33 saying the kids are soft. And I do think the coach went overboard.

Maybe the athletes who took the verbal and physical abuse back in day and didn't say anything were soft and weak for not putting a halt to that type of behavior by coaches.

But on the real, a lot of this behavior is a result of a coaches who were influenced by the military, where this sorta break 'em down to build 'em up is the norm. If troops could take the verbal abuse and the physical challenges, then you would be prepared for the battlefield. How this applies to basketball, I don't know. You tend to see this behavior in football, where the sport has been associated with war and the military.

Bob Knight came from a different era where even HBCU coaches would kick your arse. LOL. You could do things differently back then. But he won and his kids GRADUATED. I also don't think Bob Knight was as bad as this dude was with throwing balls at kid's heads. Nothing about Knight is hypocritical. Different era. You couldn't have done the military back then. Totally different now than it was then. It is a reason why Knight,Parcells, LaRussa are boys. All old school kick your arse mofos. But you can't do that isht no more.

As a coach, you can't preach respect for the sport, the coach as a authority figure and person, then put your hands on or belittle the athletes at your whim. That seem like being hypocritical to me.

Kendrick, Back in the good ole days it was totally different. You can't do it now. Back then it wasn't do as I do but do as I say. You know that. It was the law of the land back then. These kids couldn't have played for the old school coaches for the most part. Just like those old school coaches couldn't have coached now if they used those methods. Hell Golic was saying they used to fight with coaches on the Eagles. LOL. Times changed and methods have changed. Some coaches cursed with every word back then.

Nobody is condoning beating folks or trying to put your hands on them. But we all know this has happened more times than naught back in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and probably some of the 90s before things became politically correct. Rutgers folks seem to be more upset about the gay slurs than anything. LOL. Just think what coaches said back before it wasn't politically correct. I can tell some Navy stories as well. The new Navy ain't like the Navy I was in either.

That's why a lot of those "soft" college coaches never think about coaching in the pros too. They tried pulling that hot mess on a man would guarantee them an azz kicking (at best).

Yeah, I heard all those stories about how it was back in the day. Stories about how Lombardi berated Jerry Kramer in front of his family, and made his kid cry. You rarely hear these stories regarding baseball for some reason.
