The game was scheduled with this guy in mind (John David Booty) but he left for college early because of school politics that landed his father who coached there for many years out of the coaching ranks. LA. Evangel has not been the same since.

They nose-dived after that loss in Seattle.

Southlake (Texas) Carroll, Independence (Charlotte), Mission Viejo (Calif.), Hoover (Ala.), Poly (Long Beach, Calif.), Colerain (Cincinnati), Jenks (Okla.), Central Catholic (Pittsburgh), Camden County (Kingsland, Ga.) and Christian Brothers Academy (Syracuse, N.Y.) ? appeared in all 16 of this season's Super 25 rankings.

Player of the week: Eugene Jarvis of No. 6 Central Catholic (Pittsburgh) rushed for 192 yards on 24 carries and scored five TDs during a 49-14 win vs. Neshaminy (Langhorne, Pa.) in the Class 4A final. Jarvis ran for 2,196 yards and scored 38 TDs this season.

Milestones: WR Mohamed Massaquoi of No. 2 Independence (Charlotte) set North Carolina single-season records for receiving yards (1,834) and TDs (32) and career marks for yards (4,876) and TDs (76).

Extra points: Evangel Christian Academy (Shreveport, La.) stopped a two-point conversion with 28 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter of the Class 5A final, preserving a 21-20 victory over West Monroe (14-1). ECA (11-3) won its third state title in four years, and fourth in six, all coming against West Monroe. ... Cory Reamer of No. 4 Hoover (Ala.) was named MVP of the Class 6A final. Reamer blocked two punts, returning one for a 12-yard TD in a 22-7 win over Prattville.

Speaking of upsets, Southern U. had a short Q.B. by the name of Sam George. At the time, Sam George was a Sr. at Opelousas High School and faced #1 LHSAA John Curtis when they were competing in 4 -A. The Sam George Led Opelousas ball club pulled one of the most stunning upsets on the John Curtis program in the 90's. We know he went on to S.U. and we know the rest of the stories.

In 75 Curtis started their dynasty by upsetting the mighty Pioneers from Notre Dame of Crowley at the time competing in 2-A. The Pios of Notre Dame has also fielded some very good teams for years but was a Louisiana powerhouse in the 70's.

Hopefully by 2010, they would've petitioned the ncaa to play against I-AAers and then I-Aers because there'll be no good competition for them @ the high school level. lol

His name is Joe McKnight, he's family. That boy gets calls and visits everyday. Les Miles has been camped out down here for a minute. Every school is after him hard.
 
It's about time they put Lowndes in the poll. I'm surprised it took so long...they pretty much picked up where Valdosta left off.
 
Allen High School located east of Plano in the DFW Metro can beat South Lake Carroll. Allen has probably the best QB / WR combo in high school football. It is like Carson Palmer throwing to Chad Johnson. It is a deadly combination and they put up a lot of points. Allen has a indoor practice facility and a hugh azz weight room. They have invested heavily into their facilities. They also beat the team that put Lufkin out of the playoffs.

I have also seen JC play this year. JC is beating Louisiana teams in the weight room and sidelines. They have a very good coaching staff. The game time adjustments are very visible. Always thinking. Probably has a better staff than some SWAC schools. Joe Mcknight is for real. He is definitely the best player in Louisiana High School football right now. He is probably the only player of D1-A College caliber currently on JC's team.

I don't foresee those steroid injected guys @ SLC losing to anyone but the univ of tx or tx a&m. :lol:

John Curtis has always been top notch. Salmen out of Slidell beat them twice in the State Championships in the late 90's I believe.

I heard that Salmen will never be the same after Hurricane Katrina though. The said that "THE ENTIRE" high school had to be torn down and that the remaining students all go to class in portable buildings.:smh: That school sat only about a mile or so from Lake Pontchartrain, so the flood waters must have been significant.

When? At what level? Will UIL create a 6-A classification JUST for them? Who's gonna' join'em?

SLC is in a class by themselves. And they do it every single year and have done it @ every single level.

I couldn't STAND them SOBs back in the gap. But, when you talk/play against (golf/bball/etc) some of their kids, you can't help but to respect and admire them. :tup:

Tell em P,

SLC's toughest contest this year was against Euless Trinity. And that was a play off game. The next week in the next round, they beat the dog crap out of Odessa Permian. Ain't nobody beatin them boys!

That entire program (from middle school up) is a machine.

Me and GSUper are going to the SLC/Colleyville Heritage game Saturday at Texas Stadium.

P, They are well coached. Hell, I think Parcell tried to get their head coach. But, i am telling you man they are beatable. Euless Trinity had their azz on the ropes and let them get away. I think Highland Park played them close also. Say Bra, Allen is tough man. That QB/WR combo can't be stop by anybody in high school football. They only lost to Garland High the first game of the season which they had won, but allowed Garland to come back and win with a last second 36 yard field goal. I hope they get a chance to play. Hopefully at Texas Stadium. Mark this shii down because I believe we will be talking about this one.

Yes, Dodge (bastid ;) ) got those guys playing <b>good team ball</b>. Always has. Always will. They are indeed very well coached. You talking about that QB/WR combo reminds me of this other "super" WR/QB combo out of Lufkin and, well... :smh: we see where that "idividual" stuff gets you. Home watching the remaining team during the playoffs. :)

The thing about the Dodge coached SLC teams past and present is that a lot of those players are not that great, but they execute like a mug. With that said...Trey Newton (son of Nate Newton) is for real.

I don't think any of them are that great individually... Prolly avg if not better than avg. But, they execute and do as they're told w/ damn near perfection. :read:

Wish I were around to catch them @ Tx Stadium. They should prolly go on and rename Tx Stadium to Dragon Stadium in Irving. lol

Well, SLC had no problem with Grapevine Heritage. Allen managed to advance to the next round off of a missed PAT in overtime.

SLC will kill Allen next week.
