Oak Grove is the highest ranked MS team... aren't they 6A?

No team from MS. has cracked the Top 25 yet. It looks like the common football states are represented well in this poll though........Texas, California, Louisiana, Georgia and Florida.

The reason why South Panola cracked it a few years ago was because of the 6-7 year winning streak (ended season at #1)

S. Panola may crack it sometimes this season. I noticed Louisiana's John Curtis hasn't cracked it yet either. Curtis has a big game against Longview, TX in a few weeks if memory serves me correctly. Longview is a real good program as well. You never no what folks have from year to year though........

Also, John Curtis will now be in the Division I playoffs in Louisiana too with the Catholic league schools, St.Thomas More,Teurlings Catholic, and Evangel.

Yeah but USA Today don't think they are an elite team this year otherwise they would have made that poll (now they could be wrong). USA Today poll has nothing to do with divisions.....

Those Bama refs tried their hardest to give that game to Hoover. It shouldn't have been that close. Central's O-Line started leaning on Hoover by the 4th quarter, and they ran the ball at will, then occasionally went deep.

You won't see too many MS teams in those rankings. For one, most of those schools have provisions in place that allow them to recruit from other areas. Schools in MS don't have that. Then you have to account for population and resources. MS just has football players scattered about the state, not really concentrated in one area. Now S. Panola- that's just a whole different beast. But they have fallen off in recent years because North Panola HS has expanded- they have blue chippers who would normally have been at S. Panola.

It really shouldn't have.

And Booker T. Washington... man    I saw some people from TX saying that they could beat MC or Booker T. because neither saw anything that impressed them. I was like Wow.

Miami Central coach got hate mail from someone in Alabama, so I certainly was pulling for them and was glad that they broke Hoover's long winning streak.

"An anonymous fan from Hoover sent a letter to Smith filled with racial slurs and insults directed at him and his team."

Yeah, they said the same things a few years back and Miami Northwestern (Whick is BTW biggest rival) went down to Texas and cleaned Southlake Carroll's Clock. :emlaugh:

I watched Mc Eachern High School in Georgia Saturday night ..... # 15 ..... they are okay, but some of these other schools would have wiped the floor with them. North Gwinnett beat them at McEachern's home stadium with mainly a passing attack (7TD for NGHS' QB)

For SU fans, I also got to see Norcross/Tucker here too ..... we are apparently after two Norcross kids on the d-line (probably play LB in college) ..... they ain't bad at all, but man I wish we would look into Dekalb and schools like Tucker for skill that we miss in Louisiana or Florida.

Side Note: There is this kid from Colquitt County up here .... #2 I think, Kiel Pollard, a freaking beast. Catches everything and moves piles.

Several schools from Louisiana that don't recruit has made that poll at one time or the other (Warren Easton, Edna Karr and West Monroe which are Louisiana public schools come to mind)

the story was fabricated.... it was traced back to someone from Vestavia Hills (Hoovers rival)... Hoover and Vestavia Hills HATE each other so they were trying to make Hoover High look bad. Hoover is almost all Black in most of the real sports.... I knew it didnt come from anyone at Hoover..... hell they have a Black men and womens basketball coach... and all Black players on both teams.
