Based upon: The novel of the same title by Tina McElroy Ansa. The story is also based upon the folklore about people born with cauls over their heads as infants having the ability to see ghosts. The good news is that if this film is successful, the novel had a sequel, The Hand I Fan With. The book-on-tape version was narrated by Sheryl Lee Ralph, one of this movie's costars.

(Ginuwine plays Romeo, a pop singer who has a thing for Nunez's female alter-ego; Fox plays the fellow player he falls for; Pollak plays a sports superagent; Corley plays the coach of the women's team; Lil' Kim plays Jamal's girlfriend while he's in the NBA).
