TxSU @ 250 MEMBERS??

For those who did not see TSU's presidential address, he spoke on students bringing up their concern with the band being so small over the years and many believed money/scholarships was the issue here but he did clarify that money/scholarships were certainly not the issue. He and other admin also came to the conclusion that the band should be 250 or more and that the issue would be fixed!

Let me just say...the SWAC isn't ready for a 250 piece Ocean lol It is long overdue!!! The band has exceed expectation with the numbers they have, so I know this would be good for the program as a whole!

My only thing now is making sure those members are passing and getting an experience of a lifetime!

Most of my Frat and Sorors from TXSU are not happy AT All with the current Ocean and want a change of direction. They have been pretty vocal about it.

Don't know if numbers is the issue. The Ocean just not that same Ben Butler versions of the Ocean.

If you sound bad with 100..... you will sound worst with 250.

What is the point if they won't travel anywhere?
 
Observation and I"m not a band head but...

It's amazing how two people can stand in front of a band or watch the same video on whatever website and give such a highly favorable or highly unfavorable opinion on that band. Key word is opinion.
 
Just you tube tsu 1980s and that is standard that has to be met.....I have not seen that type of ocean since

I remember the rumors of Thornton from willowridge going there when they brought the band back in 93....if that would've happened then tsu would've made a quicker comeback but by then southern started becoming real popular and everyone from Houston wanted to go there or prairie view

Yea... A&M went to San Antonio when I was marching, Houston for the SCG, Houston for the SWAC Tourney, the traveling Jazz Band has performed in Texas, and we have been to every SWAC school except for the Texas schools. We were scheduled to make the trip to TxSU in 2008 but you all flaked at the last minute (when a promoter paid for your buses AND hotels) and cancelled. So who does not travel again?
 
I thought we were talking about football games....I thought that was all that mattered. Guess the rules changed randomly. Congrats on travelling...:)

It's been up in the air as to whether the rain will hold off or not. Earlier this week, they were saying from Wednesday into early Friday. By midweek, they were saying Thursday into early Saturday. Yesterday, I heard the rain would not make it till morning to mid-day on Sunday.

We have learned to not listen to the weatherman in Houston. Last time they said 30% chance, we had a flood that shut the city down, and the last time that we were about to get a surefire flood and shit the city down, we got less than 1/4 inch of rain....LOL
 
Let us bring up football games then.... 7 of our 9 opponents we have been to. The only schools we have not traveled to for a regular season game, has been the Texas schools.
