This is the perfect time to buy out his contract. His buyout is $100K - if his contract is brought out this week, October, November, and December salary payments would be included in that $100K. Since JSU has to pay him for those last 3 months ($22,084.00 per month), the total for 3 months will be $66,252.00. There you go - $100k less $66,252 is $33,748. Therefore, JSU would have to only pay an additional $33,748 to get rid of him. Then JSU can take it time to find an experienced proven head coach that can run a successful football program since we are now paying a base salary of $265,000.

You felt the need to say that why? I simply compared Ole Miss season last year to JSU this year, which are similar. Yes JSU has been down since 2014 the results show it. It ain’t like we wanted Rick fired that’s over our heads all we doing is hoping things fall in some administration that knows what they doing. I don’t give excuses to no one yea we getting our ass handed to us learn from it and don’t it happen again simple

Also, what some folks don't understand, if JSU fires Hughes, they would have to make someone interim coach at the same salary Hughes.is making.
