Tuskegee Exploring Division I?

Skegee is not interested in moving up for several reasons:
1. Why move when they are already winning over Div. IAA opponents.
2. They don't believe in putting funds into the athletic programs, including putting lights on the stadium. All games start at 1 pm in the hot a$$ sun with a fan base age of 60 and above.
3. They pride themselve on being an academic institution that happens to thrive in two sports (football/basketball).

I always heard their academics has been strong for years. The only HBCU to offer Veterinary Medicine. Skegee not worried about moving up & why should everyone else be concerned? I been to many of their football games with friends & had a ball - - even sitting in the hot sun drinking liquor & tailgating while watching the game.:weee: Their homecomings are off the chain! Over 30,000 packed the stadium.

So if they aren't interested why did the alums create this site?
http://tud1explore.com

I hear it is only a small # of guys who created the site. They want it! Its not the school who created the site. That site has been around for several years. I know many TU alums and all say moving up not a priority. Just trying to maintain at the DII level - - other priorities besides moving up.

Division II to FCS Independent
FCS Independent to Sun Belt (FBS)
FCS Independent to C-USA

I was at Mitchell Center the day South Alabama announced it's plans for FBS status. I watched the process hands on. It's more than just money that is needed. I watched these people put a great financial plan together before making moves. I know our HBCU's can do the same thing if the proper planning is implemented. We have to stop being afraid of moving up. Tuskegee transitioning from Division II to the SWAC will not be as tough as people are making it seem.

Please do not use South Alabama as a reference the money they have alone puts them on the level as most FBS programs!

Tell us something that none of us haven't already said.

If Grambling woulda kept Broadway it wouldn't be the SWAC's doormat for two straight years:lol:

Hit dog. rotfl. 2 years absence still have a big lead over JSU which they will never catch up, everyone knows it is not realistic. Harp on the 2 year hiatus all you want to but you only have only won one SCG since it's inception but pump thew chest out like yall have 6, no buddy, you have only 1 lol

Lights or no lights! I always have a damn good time when I go to their football games. Good atmosphere, freedom to tailgate inside the stadium while watching the game, etc. I'll be there for Ala. A&M on 9/6.

Ok glad you enjoyed yourself but the statement was they weren't interested in moving up to FCS.

The fact that some alum created this site refute that claim, no matter how small a number someone claim them to be.

This subject really concerns you and maybe you should contact the appropriate parties for further discussion. Not my problem or worry. I only go to TU's football games with a couple of buddies who are big on tailgating and enjoy the atmosphere that TU has. Never experienced inside tailgating at a football game while actually sitting there watching it. Peace!

Clearly you're concerned and worried because you have been in this thread for a couple of days. :emlaugh:

Not at all. just responding & posting about what I know which is very little. I recommend you getting with some of the TU grads to find out more on the site. I have nothing but love for Skegee. Always have a good time there.

That's a cool azz shed. Uncle Booker's student are very creative when it comes to stuff like that.

Lots of action going on under the shed at the games. A tremendous amount of history at TU. My buddy just told me that Skegee's new president will take office next month. He is only 40 years old!!
