They actually rescheduled them but that didn't work out either.

Sh@t talking is cool, but what you will be encountering on this here board is a group of Alumni who love their school, but after witnessing ineptness on the sideline since 2009 morale is low. If you like talking smack to a one armed man go ahead.

Words cannot express the feeling I felt on September 14, 2013 in Savannah. Have never ever EVER been embarrassed by the FVSU football team until that day - and I have watched FVSU football for over 30 years - lived through the good and the bad - but that was the worst - just complete and utter incompetence. Decided to divest myself emotionally, (but not financially) that day. I'll still go the games and cheer them on, but I have no expectations. Here's hoping I can eat some crow this fall.

Why are you trying to explain this to that dude? Since the inception of the SCG, JSU has represented the East more than anyone. In reality, it's hard to beat any team twice in one year.
If there was a playoff bid and no SCG, JSU would have at least four SWAC titles in ten years.
Over the last ten years, JSU has been the most competitive team in the SWAC.
Folks so jealous, they want to just forget about their four straight sub .500 seasons of futility and ineptness..

More dumb numbers while ignoring overall team competitiveness during the entirety of the SCG period. I see why some folks want to cover ten years of mediocrity with one title.:snicker:

Please! I have worked with 3 different athletic programs in the past 8 years that have moved up in class. It's all about planning and having the right people calling shots. If you think it's not possible, then you just don't have a clue. Nobody said Tuskegee needs to move up tomorrow.

Seems like they have fallen on hard times. They are probably more suited for the MEAC anyway if they decided to move up. I kind of agree with tbf, the SWAC growth opportunities are probably west......

Nobody said that it couldn't be done Ebony Einstein (Thanks JRock) just that TU can't do it. If it were that easy everybody would be doing it.

WSSU trustees vote to stop move to Division I

Winston-Salem State University has stopped its drive to Division I.
The decision to continue to compete in Division II and rejoin the CIAA was made Friday afternoon, by the school's board of trustees at a specially called meeting on campus.
Chancellor Donald Reaves, who has researched the move to Division I over the last 18 months, presented a detailed resolution that the board unanimously approved.
"This has been a difficult decision," Reaves told the board. "…but it's time to move on."
Since leaving the CIAA and starting the transition to Division I five years ago, WSSU's athletics department has lost more than $6 million. Reaves projected that the deficit would grow to $15 million by 2012.
Reaves said that the university's continued funding of the athletics program was taking away from academic endeavors.

Division II to FCS Independent
FCS Independent to Sun Belt (FBS)
FCS Independent to C-USA

I was at Mitchell Center the day South Alabama announced it's plans for FBS status. I watched the process hands on. It's more than just money that is needed. I watched these people put a great financial plan together before making moves. I know our HBCU's can do the same thing if the proper planning is implemented. We have to stop being afraid of moving up. Tuskegee transitioning from Division II to the SWAC will not be as tough as people are making it seem.

Which former D2? Going FBS from FCS is much easier than going FCS from D2. Also has it been since APR came into existence?
