Tulane has scheduled football game vs. Grambling State in 2017

The Tulane Green Wave have scheduled future football games vs. FIU, Grambling State, and Nicholls State, the New Orleans Advocate has reported.

Tulane and FIU will meet in a home-and-home series that begins at FIU Stadium in Miami in 2017. The second and final game will be played at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans on a date to be announced.

The 2017 game between Tulane and FIU will be their first-ever matchup on the gridiron.

Tulane has also added two in-state Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) opponents to their future schedules. The Green Wave will host the Grambling State Tigers on Sept. 2, 2017 and the Nicholls State Colonels on a date to be announced in 2018.

JRock, that depends on their alumni association allotment and season ticket allotment and their student allotment. That place only holds 30K. Both bands gonna take up 2000 of those seats.
 
In its first game in Yulman Stadium, Tulane played the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in front of a university-reported crowd of 30,000 spectators. The opening game sold out 14 minutes after single-game tickets went on sale,[20] and students picked up roughly 5,000 tickets for the game (about 40% of the entire undergraduate and graduate enrollment of the university), making it the largest student crowd at a Tulane game since football moved off campus in 1975.[21][22]
 
I also was told that the 30k Yulman Stadium only has seats for 25k. I think the SUNO fans and band fans can help Jaguarnaion own that very small stadium. The visiting side looks a high school stadium.

I know what the reason is. The stadium is perfect for Tulane, but it is small and thier fans agree. The alumni call there visiting side "Da Pan Am" side. (Pan American is a high school stadium in NOLA)

Have you every been in Yulman? It has around 25k (seems less) seats, but it is a small FBS stadium. It's not in the top 10, but it is close. In fact, I believe it's tied for the smallest in the American with Tulsa.

Tulane fans don't agree, but I think it's great for Tulane. It's better for them than playing in the dome since they don't sell tickets well.

Have I ever been to Yulman Stadium? You're acting like it's in Okinawa or somewhere.


Do you understand my question? "By whose standards.?"

Do you understand the difference between The P5 and The Group of 5?


There are 128 fbs level schools and out of those 128 schools 42% of them have stadiums of 30k or less, 55% 40k or less. So I'll ask again by whose standards is 30k small?

If you look at the numbers in terms of just The Group of 5 ( if you understand what that means) the number of stadiums that are 30k and less goes up pass 90%.. Just because you get excited from watching a game crowd of 100k doesn't mean that's the norm or the standards.

I guess you have never been to Yulman.

Although your 42% really means nothing when you consider the amount of teams who were in FCS or didn't have a program 20 years ago, it's still not the majority. We are talking about a stadium with about 25K seats. Tulane fans and folks who have been in bigger P5 and Group of 5 stadiums know that Yulman is considered a small stadium in the FBS ranks. I guess Tulane would have to own the Kibbie Dome for folks like you to consider their stadium small.
 
So basically what you're saying is "I'm going to pretend I'm the nullest knife in the drawer" an act like 55% of stadiums having a capacity of 40k or below isn't the norm because you don't have an understanding of the fbs structure P5 vs The Group of 5.

At the end of the day what point is it do you think you're making anyway? You're questioning whether I've ever been to Yulman Stadium gives me the impression that you haven't been there more than a couple of times yourself and that you more than likely haven't been to any Tulane games at all.

That's the only logical reason I could come up with that you seem to be so fascinated at the size of the stadium. Because anybody any knowledge of Tulane football knows that Tulane in his best years have only average a little over 16 or 17000 fans ever, and it was so far in between you can't even say a season.

I'll ask again and if you avoid answering this time no need to keep the conversation going because clearly that's not what you're looking to have where a conclusion is made.


You're looking the have a barbershop argument where nothing has to be base on facts or any proof given and you can leave saying that you're right.

I agree. But the Kibbie Dome will be a FCS stadium again soon. I guess that wil help Bluedog's numbers. Lol.

Don't sweat it base, I am going to let you check out his stats and numbers when I pick a SWAC vs MEAC football debate after the celebration bowl so you can see how he gets off on an overall record. Back to Tulane, Yulman is small. I drove to NOLA from Pensacola for the Georgia Tech opening game there with my cousin, who is an alumni. It's a great looking metro stadium, (except for the tiny visiting section under the second press box), but it is packed in. The Jukebox is going to blow away the Tulane bench in that boiling pot. SU fans please take notes:Yulman isn't built to host the Jukebox! Lol.

Do you two stadium experts even realize that Tulane is in Louisiana? Like New Orleans Louisiana?

Like in the same New Orleans that we travel to every year and some of us every other weekend.

Or are you confused because you don't think they allow black folks on the campus unless a sporting event is going on?

Tulane by AAC and FBS standards is small. They would have an average sized MAC stadium (biggest stadium is Kent State with 30K) and a small Sun Belt stadium (only Idaho, CCU and App State are smaller). SMU (32K) and Tulsa (30k) are of similar size
