Sept. 13, 2005,
Among events that had been slated for Reliant Park this month were Fiestas Patrias, a Mexican independence day celebration that was expected to attract 50,000 people, and the annual Bayou Classic football game between Texas Southern University and Prairie View A&M.

Uhhh This has C-Leb & Jafus written all over it. :emlaugh:

Re: this is a damn shame

City officials said they plan to seek $39 million in federal funding to cover relief costs, both those incurred and those anticipated. That likely will be only the first of several requests, said White spokesman Frank Michel.

Yeah... I can't wait til I get my share! :devil2:

Re: this is a damn shame

Hey, if the shoe was on the other foot and Houston was wiped off the planet, wouldn't the City of New Orleans seek retribution for housing Houstonians who were displaced becuase of a natural disaster? Brother you are pure sad.

What does PV and TSU has to do with this?

Nothing....

The reporter made a error in what they called the name of the football contest.

Organizers say goal is to keep game in Louisiana

NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Bowl might have a bit more Cajun flavor this year.

With the Superdome awaiting massive repairs and New Orleans projected to be cleaning up from Hurricane Katrina for months, the December bowl might move to Lafayette, La., said executive director Billy Ferrante of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation.

"We have had some very preliminary talks with the folks at Louisiana-Lafayette and our first choice is to keep the game in Louisiana," he said.

The five-year-old bowl matches the champion of the New Orleans-based Sun Belt Conference with a team from Conference USA. Louisiana-Lafayette is a Sun Belt member. This year's game is Dec. 20.

Damn, we couldn't get this one.... oh well. It was a money loser anyway.

This is why the Bayou Classic shouldn't be in Houston

Mann PVU/TSU and the city of Houston should be ashamed of themselves for doing this. See what I was saying about having the Bayou Classic the same weekend as they Sorry A_ _ game.
