Own vs. rent

"I would relate it to having your own house (vs.) renting out an apartment," McClelland said. "When you have your own facility, you can fix it up and do things that will accommodate you and your fans vs. when you're renting something, when you have to be able to function in a manner that someone tells you how to function.

"For us to be able to create that football environment for our fans, to control tickets and to control the flow of the entire game-day experience is going to be huge for the Texas Southern community."

"For all practical purposes, as far as Texas Southern is concerned, this is our stadium," McClelland said

****

...except when the soccer team has a POSSIBLE playoff game!! :emlaugh:

You know how in college when you and your roommate who had someone coming over the same night? The one who had the sure thing got first dibs on privacy. :sperm:

(well... guys know) :swink:

Okay. So just regular HS games still going on.

Which makes it worse for Houston area fans. There will be more more highschool teams playing on that Friday than there would be when the playoffs start.

Yeah you got a good point about that.

Waiting for TBF to chime in. LOL.

"You've been hoodwinked. You've been had. You've been took. You've been led astray, run amok. You've been bamboozled."

Whenever someone from TSU talks about "their" stadium I always ask "what color are the seats?"

The games are mostly blowouts at that point. Just waiting for the playoffs.... unless it is homecoming.

At that point those are district games and they are being played at the districts stadiums.

I guess Charles is trying to give the Jags time to make that 4 hr drive from Baton Rouge by having the game start at 8:00. It won't be over till almost midnight.

Good move.

I'm actually glad the game is moved to Friday night now.

At least we didn't move the game to Baton Rouge and claim "Christmas came early".

That just killed their crowd for the Jags coming to Houston. The local Jags will still come out. But that Friday game just messed up a good revenue game for them if it had stayed on that Saturday.

The football team will adjust obviously.
im SUprised at the amount of BR folks that's going to the first game. It might affect some, but for the most part folks will be there.
