Re: TSU BANNED!!!! (part II)

I believe UDC was 2% at one point. That open enrollment foolishness will kill your school. When I got to DC, UDC was referred to as University of Dumb Children.

I'm not smacking now.

Man... for a school to be as small as it is, comprised of mostly females if memory serves correct, that's mind boggling. :smh: 2%? The area was "rough" when I was there back in the gap and it's changed for the better, upon my recent visits. I thought the feeder school system in DC had gotten better through the years recently. I'm sure their funding is predicated on the same platform as Howards: federal, controlled through congress. :read: At some point, one of these southern gentlemen/women are going to notice that malfeasance and submit requests to zip it.

Re: TSU BANNED!!!! (part II)

Let the TSPN Record show that P88 has bytched and bemoaned PVAMU since the early 90s, when he first got involved in "the fight for right." The GSR. Athletics. Even all the way down to campus presentation (beauty-cutting grass regularly). I bytched, moaned, wrote letters/phone calls to Becton, Hines, and Mr Tempton as well as current Mr Wright. Behind my words/phone calls was $$$ donations and compassion for betterment. Don't think you're special sTu because you're getting the attention (negative). I'd think you alums would collaborate, circle the wagons, put some actions behind your thoughts, and not the normalcy of being a clepto...28 and riding down 290 to steal some more talent as a solution to YOUR problem(s).

If only 13% of your overall student body is graduating and the ncaa says that your fball team isn't even hitting that mark in 4-5 yrs... :shame:

na, UDC is funded by the city but congress does control the city's budget. Howard gets $242 million from the feds.

Yes sir. I'm aware of Howard's deal but I think UDC had the same type deal w/ congress. :smh:

I didn't think the district had any extra... wait a minute. Isn't the district's funding too set by congress. :read: (if memory serves correct)

They collect their own taxes but congress has to approve their budget. The control board is no longer in existence. They got rid that after Marion faded.

:smh: There was a bunch of stuff being swept under the rug there. :smh:

All those resources... not too many sincere enough to take advantage of the opportunities presented them.

Re: TSU BANNED!!!! (part II)

Laziness. Honestly, I think there is a big culture of laziness among the native population.

Re: TSU BANNED!!!! (part II)

In the end, this will be good for TXSO though. Will force them to make changes. In 20 years, school will be different.

+1. looking @ stu today is like looking PVU in the recent past. PV too had to endure & enforce req'd changes. I may have been the only black who was happy when the aTm sys intervened :read:.
