I still don't understand why Session's answered the question the way he did. Al Franken asked this question; "If its true its obvious extremely serious and if there is any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump camp communicated with the Russian government in the course of this camp what will you do"?

Session responded by saying: I'm not aware of any of those activities. I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communication with the Russians and I am unable to comment".
Fraken did not ask Sessions if he directly had any involvement, he asked what he (Sessions) would do if the any of the other members of the campaign had involvement or communications with the Russian Government.
Correct me if I am wrong, but anyone have an idea on why Sessions responded the way he did instead of just answering the question? Yes we are finding out now he perjured himself, but there is something more we are missing.

you are probably right that there is something we're missing. was he simply trying to avoid saying what he would do? that would box him in and make it impossible for him not to follow through.
