Travis Hunter and S. Sanders

The only team that has a chance of beating The Buffs now is Texas Tech who's decent at best. Utah, Kansas and Oklahoma State have been struggling so I will automatically give Ws to the Buffs for those games. They're about to finish 10-2 or 9-3 with a ranking in the top 15. Deion did his thing this year.

Travis has been bitten by “Thee Tiger” and will never forget it. We were Salty at first, but now we are rooting for Travis and his quarterback S. Sanders! However, Thee Love is Strong for our very own Shilo!!!!
Not all. Never was bitter. I understand the game and said this over years ago. Those in the Den know this. I called it out. That we (HBCU) will be feeder schools much like the minors to the MLB.

Same thing Maynor said and everyone on this page laughed at him.

Travis Hunter to give nod to former HBCU if he wins Heisman

Travis Hunter, who began his college football career at Jackson State, a Mississippi HBCU, is the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman Trophy on Saturday. The Colorado wide receiver/cornerback said he plans on acknowledging his HBCU origin story if he does indeed win the award this weekend. Fox Sports lists Hunter’s odds at -2000, the best among all players in college football. Ashton Jeanty the Boise State running back is second with +800 odds.

Back to Hunter and what he had to say when asked about Jackson State.

“I started off at Jackson State,” Hunter said during a media session on Friday. “I’ve got to thank them for allowing me to come in there and do what I do and accepting me when I left.”

Travis Hunter enjoyed one year of HBCU football during the 2022 season, helping lead Jackson State to a SWAC Championship before losing to North Carolina Central in the Celebration Bowl.

Hunter played in eight games during his freshman season at JSU. He caught 18 passes with four touchdowns that season as a receiver. He had two interceptions and 10 pass breakups during limited action that season as he nursed a lingering injury from high school.

We can’t wait for Travis Hunter to get the Award and get the number 1 slot in the draft. He is an amazing player and graced TheeILove as a freshman where the foundation for greatness was laid. I was hurt when Coach Prime left us and took everyone with him, now I see clearly why he made the decision that he did. Travis Rules! Shout out to Shilo!!!!

Travis Hunter wins the Heisman Trophy! Today, Jackson State undeniably secured its place in the national spotlight during both the Cricket Celebration Bowl and the Heisman Trophy presentation. This kind of exposure showcases the university's exceptional talent and solidifies its reputation in the world of sports.

Those young men have much respect for JSU. They just had to make a decision that was really prompted by Prime’s move. I am glad they’re doing well.
Agree. But after the statement released about why Hunter chose an HBCU & abruptly leaving after a season he just strongly reinforced the narratives instead of changing anything. Cultural conditioning has us believing everything "over there" is " better". Hunter could have achieved most every goal in life here in the SWAC except that trophy of validation from old white men.

Slum with us here at HBCU'S only if you have nothing " better".....

Well that still falls on HBCUS to change those narratives.

He can name drop JSU all he wants but whose college is he at NOW?

Was he not nursing an injury before he got into college? Had it not been for that would he even be on JSU radar?

As Cee said HBCUS are the farming ground for white schools now and don't THINK they won't come looking.

You would have a point if that wasn’t already going on since the NIL era began. You got all SWAC players jumping into the portal. Building championship level teams or competitive teams is becoming a lot more difficult when you cannot retain your cornerstone players. It’s sad. This is why depth and recruiting quality high school players is going to be vital for some of our schools. Don’t overlook these D2 and Juco cats who have tape for the shiny P5 former 4 & 5 star with no tape and straight killing cultures coaches trying to build. This is a deeper conversation than just how you interpreted Travis Hunters speech.
