The G-Men enter 2005 with Melvin Spears as their permanent coach. More significantly is that Bruce Eugene the outstanding Grambling QB will be back for his final season after receiving a Medical Redshirt last year. After a roller coaster 2004, the G-Men hope to take 2005 by storm and re-establish their program atop the Southwestern Athletic Conference. After opening with Alcorn State followed by Alabama A&M, the G-Men should take a 2-0 record into a payday game against Washington State in Seattle, Washington. Afterwards, expect the G-Men to roll off (6) consecutive victories until they face rival Southern where they could pick up their only conference loss of the season. Unfortunately, it could be such loss that could thwart their championship hopes in a tight Western Division race.

The 2005 Football schedule for Alabama A&M is a mirror image of last season just alternate home and away sites with two exceptions. Once again the Bulldogs will open the season in Nashville, Tn. at the John Merritt Classic vs. Tennessee State University and absent form this year's schedule is Savannah State University. Following suit will be the same cast of SWAC opponents as last year.


Fans of the Alabama A&M Bulldogs should expect much of the same as they saw last year. Stellar and consistent defense with inconsistent and painfully unreliable offense.

Essentially the Bulldogs will fill gaps on defense and continue their consistent presence as one of the league's best. Johnny Baldwin the team's leading tackler in 2004 will anchor the pressure based defense of the Bulldogs.

The offense will have several offensive line spots to fill but at QB, RB and WR the Bulldogs have a good deal of experience. The question will be who will lead at Quarterback. Senior Johnny Keith returns as the top man statistically in yardage, attempts, completions and worse of all, interceptions. Sophomore Kelcy Luke, the 2004 preseason starter prior to an ankle injury, hopes to live up to expectations as a stud transfer from Auburn. If the QB piece of the puzzle is not found, the Bulldogs as stated, will be essentially the same squad as last year. If the QB piece is found, the Bulldogs could easily win the SWAC's eastern division.

I (for one), am still trying to figure out why Gram agreed to move and play this game on Thursday 09/08/05 and then turn around with some lame excuse about their fans not being able to come to that game on Thursday. The only game that Gram fans seem to come out for is the BC in New Orleans. The last time that we played them for their home game, they move the game to Shreveport and the attendance was a dismal ~6900 fans????

This game on on 'The Duece' would have been great for both schools and the SWAC.

We run or dance from or for no one. We played you all on TV once before and you bought about 12 fans. Sept. 13, 2003 GSU-45 vs Alabama A&M.*-14 (2-1) 6,692 Attendance Shreveport, LA (MBC-TV). Maybe if it was a school with a fan following we would change the game, but you are no one. You beat us once in the past 4 years and you wan to talk. Your school is some embarrassing field n3gr0s who don't even talk smack in your opponents face. Some don't say we are running. I was at that bama school last year and ya'll won and I still was waiting for someone to say something, yet when we walked past ya'll. Ya'll look scared. So next time I might just have to: slap:
