Then Mike, you're seeing a totally different situation than 95% of the rest of us who have commented on this topic. That's all he's doing, man! Read this quote from the article that mighty hornet posted above:
"Tony has had more help than anybody I've ever known," Jacobs said. "I realize he has had difficult beginnings; where a person comes from is going to impact them. But sooner or later, you have to make up your mind how you want it to turn out. Everybody has been trying to give his sad beginning a happy ending, but it seems like it always turns out like this, with him angry with somebody about something."
..and this is from someone who has known this kid for a while. If that's not painting your benefactor as the culprit, I don't know what is! When the kid sat there, and SMILED CONFIDENTLY about not making the "A" and boasted about "not gettting up at no 8:00 in the morning," I knew then that his bread wasn't done on the top! Anytime I see a kid who is happy that he's a poor student, and who thinks he acheived something by running up the phone bill of someone who allowed him a place to lay his stupid head, I have no sympathy for him!
He needs serious help, and not the kind that comes from money or basketball!
