SWAC OFFICIATING

IS REGRESSING BACK to where it was a couple of years ago. I just watched the MCC and the officiating was so bad it was ridiculous. They dont even try to get the crap right. In the MCC and at JSUs homecoming play after they play they mis-spotted the ball over and over.

Memo to SWAC officials:

You should spot the ball where the man lands, not where stops moving. this is horrible and getting worser.

If the ball is inside the 20 yard line (15 yard line) and you call holding on the offensive team, the penalty is not 10 yards, its half the distance. The ball should be placed on the 7.5 yard line, not the 5.

You cant call a penalty after the play cause "its the right thing to do." A ref in Jackson missed an obvious call, JSU scored on something unrelated to the foul....the opposing coach protest....the ref tells Comegy as JSU lines up to kick the extra point, that he has to call the "uncalled" penalty cause its the right thing to do. You have to be kidding me?

Crap like this goes on in SWAC games, yet our commissioner is busy repremanding coaches for cliche statements.

Carry on. :) I stand behind MY coach!

Re: SWAC OFFICIATING

What about the option play that was called a forward pass?
This is FN ridiculous

The games are to good for the game to come down to critical miss calls by officials not in one game, not for one team, but across the board in more than one game against various teams on a weekly basis.

Sad but true... I'm not gonna even talk about all the penalties against PV today and the ones that were missed....can we say....REF SCHOOL....I cannot wait to hear the weekly conference call. I hope Frazier doesn't go off and get suspended....

I wish I could get ahold of some game film and post these calls and obvious no-calls that these fools make.

That was a criticial call they missed. I guess it' s safe to say that is why you need to have a good lead on teams in the SWAC cause you never know when ummmm those thangs up^^^^^^^.... Will miss something that could cause your team to win/lose the game.... One announcer said over the radio broadcast that he said he missed the call.... YOU CANNOT MISS SHI* bruh... What do you think you arte getting paid to do GEESH!!!!!

THEY MISSED A BIG CATCH FOR BAMA STATE TODAY!!!!!!!

The Refs screwed our defense on several calls in the second half but Grambling did what they had to to secure the win. Hats off to them! Congrats on winning the SWAC this yr.

Could all the schools afford and have an equitable system? Not sure that's possible. No one in FCS has instant replay...

I've seen SEC game officals reverse calls because they were able to review plays with instant replay. Can the SWAC use instant replay when games are televised live?

Still, if you go to SEC message boards the fans are complaining about the refs. Even with instant reply calls are still missed. It's the same everywhere.

Referees are asked to do an impossible job. It would take God to get every call all of the time.

Re: TIMEOUT!!! THE SWAC OFFICIALS ARE KILLING THIS LEAGUE!!

Watching the LSU Bama game they have reversed at least 4 calls. Just think if they did not have instant replay. They'd be SWAC refs.

No they wouldn't. It's one thing to miss close calls and it's another thing to be half-arse retarded. Those refs in the LSU-Alabama game did a good job. They overturned calls which they really weren't in position to make the "right" call on during/after the play. SWAC refs are absolutely atrocious. They miss obvious stuff and call shat that doesn't even happen.

Yep...........:lecture:

OK...what I want to know is if there is a League office that deals directly with the officials. Because, if there is, then I know they review all the games from the prior week and give grades. This should deter some of the bad calls and help weed out the bad officials.

True on the SWAC refs when they enforce penalties incorrectly and use incorrect terminology. But if the SEC refs did not have replay today they would be called all kinds of "garbage".

In my opinion, there is a difference between interpetation/missing a close play that can be addressed by reviewing the play at the FBC (formerly I-A)level, but often times the SWAC referees make bad calls, interpret the rules incorrectly, incorrect terminology, and have bad general officiating errors throughout the game that would not be addressed by having the opportunity to review a given play. It makes SWAC football difficult for coaches to coach, players to play, announcers to announce, broadcasters to broadcast, and fans to watch.

I agree.

That's Y I asked if there was a Head League Official...what these refs are doing is embarrasing to the league, the schools, the fans and most of all themselves. This is not some little PeeWee football league...So, if they can't get things right, they need to be fired or let go or whatever u want to call it...
