Is Tillery the best back to come through the SWAC?

I'm curious to see how others around the conference view him.


Try not to hate, he is the all time rushing leader.

Thoughts?
 



What's most impressive about him is how consistent he has been over the years and game to game. He is a special player to me and I think he is as good as his numbers but I don't think he a Walter Payton but he is still very good.
 
Folks have to understand that he accomplish this goal in a spread offense attack at that..I think that's even more impressive and also he did it under terms where teams normally have a 2 back rotation.

This is a hidden gem

Let me say this: This is a forum. A place for discussion. Do not ask folks for their thoughts on a subject and at the same time suggest that we "try not to hate" just because Tillery is the all-time leading rusher. If you don't think you can handle the responses that might come with the question, then you probably shouldn't ask the question.

Just because someone MIGHT say something you don't like or agree with, it doesn't mean they are hating.
 
its a legit argument if you make it one...

Payton played in an era where the talent was better across the board and they looked to stop the run as passing was second...Grambling ran the Wing T so teams knew they were coming at them in Gant's case...Destry was the featured back but that offense had Sylvester Morris also...

Tillery falls in the Frank Warren category as a great runner but not at the caliber of Payton.....alot of "best ever" has NFL accolades unofficially attached
 
He is the SWAC All Time Leading Rusher. I look at for what it is....Tillery is a damn good back and if someone wants to describe him as the best back to come through the SWAC then so be it. I can't disagree with it.

My first thought was Walter Payton given what he did after college in the NFL but that is not fair to Tillery.

Hate and expressing a football opinion are two different things dude.
Someone mentioned Walter and I didn't quote him as hating,

You know hate, jealously etc, I just ask a question and wanted a response without hate.
 
He is the best in the SWAC and one of the top 3 in FCS. To be honest, he might be in the top 25 of all of D I. We can't compare him to the greats because of the current era being much weaker. New era and all, I think he is one of the best backs in the SWAC since the late 90's.

Man that dude know what I meant when I stated hating, he been here long enough to know how things go down but want to come off as he hasn't ever seen "hating" on this forum in regards to question being asked.

Like I'm supposed to think and pull for everyone to root for Tillery smh.

Exactly, I been DOING this long enough to know that the ones who ask they we "not hate" are the ones who are usually the most sensitive in such situations. Next time just ask question without the demands.
 
In this time yes but not period. He will have to make it to the pros. Im just surprised at the hating azz comments though. Carry on
 
Hell Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!

Steve Wofford was better and played against better competition.

I've seen Tillery play and he is Very Good but he is not the best Rb to come through the league. Is He on the Payton Watch list or one of the finalists?
 
He's the best of this recent era better thank frank warren and all but overall its hard to say because back then it was run first they knew the run was coming and now you couldn't just stack the box against SU cause Willie Quin would eat you alive
