FAMU Famed Final Four: The quartet of John Cuyler, Charles "Trick Shot" White, Willie Irvin and Thomas Hogan, banded together to win the 1952 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament. This foursome, played a man short (due to foul trouble) through five minutes of regulation play and two overtimes, to edge Alabama State, 71-67, in that now fabled final game on Alabama State's home court.

Okay JAGJACK, I have a good one for you though it might be hard to find. S.U. played Tennessee State (football) one year in Nashville it may have been 78 or 80. At the time TNST had their own officials. The Morning Advocate did a pretty long article on the game because of the cheating that went on. Before the game the officials told S.U. players that they could not wear fist pads. When that game started TNST team came out of the locker room with pads resembling boxing gloves. Then on one occasion S.U. player was going in for a touchdown and someone from their sideline tackled the S.U. player. There were a few others incidents in the game but it was so long ago........Let's see if you find that one.....lol

JagJack At some point early during the 1990 season SU's basketball team was ranked in the top 25. Could you find the article. Thanks

JAGJACK, you are the Man! I can't believe you found that S.U. vs. TNST article. I guess that was the game where the guy ran out of bounds and ran the touchdown as opposed to someone tackling him from the sideline. See, old JROCK knows what he talking about when it comes to S.U. football.....lol

That's only one episode in many with TNST. I remember one week Otis Sistrunk of the Oakland Raiders picked up Terry Bradshaw Pittsburgh Steelers and turned him upside down and threw him on his head. Be damn if we didn't play TNST the next week or so and they tried all game to throw our QB on his head....I believe it was Norman Gibbs S.U. QB and this was actually in BR....smh & lol
