We have to get creative. Honestly, we have students on campus that have innovative ideas help us. But, majority of HBCUs administrators do not like to listen. The time is now to right this ship. But, if we don't step into present. We want have a future.

Innovation is the key. Doing the same ole stuff for 50 years will get you behind everyone else. We are HBCUs and innovation should be our main focus. Instead, a lot of smaller HBCUs result to pimping theit students to maintain some dumb tradition.

I agree that any business manager should have a plan to keep his/her business afloat. The "money games" are an answer to that . How many programs would go "belly up" within 5 years after ending the annual money games? Not every HBCU program can shift to a classic and recoup those money game dollars. I AM NOT a fan of the money games, but understand that these games serve a purpose.
I am a brother over the age of 40. I love old school hip-hop. I have never bought any music by Drake, Future, or MIGOS, so maybe I am out of touch? Please enlighten me on how random AD's should use youngblood vision and insight and take their respective program into a better place ("vision forward thinking planning").

What is something, we all have to do in life? It's called adjustment. Why is Snoop Dogg still making hits? He had to adjust to the trend, or fall to wayside. Which one of our athletic programs have made adjustments into 2018?

Do yall really believe those money game checks are going back to the programs?

Probably not. Each school should have a stand alone athletic foundation so that it can control all revenues for its athletic programs. IMO, SU's alum band foundation definitely should control its revenue.

Think about when a university department budget is approved (before the school year starts) vs. when the game checks are cut (during the school year).

Then think about these HNIC type presidents running schools like Suge Knight....

Mileage may vary

All money generated by athletics should go to athletics. Like Bayou Classic money. However, when our schools are already dipping into the school’s coffers and getting student fees, those funds just get kicked back into the general funds.

Isn't student fees strictly for athletic programs??? If the schools are doing that, the students should be able to sue the administrations for mis-appropriation of funds.

Student fees are exactly used what they are for. I’m talking about he schools transferring general fund money to athletics.

How long has Kennesaw St sported a division I fcs/i-aa football team? How long has your school? And they quickly ascended into fcs dominance how?

Right. For us PVers locally, all we have to do is look a mere 49.2 miles NE of campus towards huntsville, tx to see how a once no-name football school now owns the state, at the fcs level, in all sports, for the most part. That's mind-boggling considering the cherished history of PVAMU and our once proud record. We've been bullshitting for quite awhile but, I do believe we got the hire right this time w/ coach Eric Dooley. It's all business, nothing personal, so fvck your feelings. Admire that attitude.

We can also look at incarnate word. They've only been D1 for 5 years and they're currently the best FCS team in Texas.

Shame. Shame. Shame. Out of nowhere they enter, become decently dominant, and we have over 98 years of playing football and w/in the last 40 years just cannot get it right consistently. Pitiful!!!!!!

The only people I see complaining are those who (for the most part) represent schools whose teams haven't played in the SGC in the past 3 years. (LOL)

Carry on. - LMAO

Incarnate Word's schedule for the next two years. They only have one money game, and the rest are winnable.

I'm willing to bet. Out A.D.s would put a money game in every slot.

Don't act like we can't see what y'all talk about over at gogrambling...
I don't have access to that website. I haven't for years. I have no idea what is going on over there.

But what's going on with THIS THREAD is obvious. (LOL)

Carry on.

How many national titles has Grambling won in the last 30 years?

Notice I didn't say Celebration Bowl....

You hit the nail right on the head, from money games, to HC, to Classic games, I am 100% that money is not seeing the Athlete programs(to better fund athletes) most of it is going to the general fund

Ask your head coaches has their recruiting budgets increased since playing money games.

It's taking every part of me not to be petty in answering this question (LOL). So I will simply defer and ask you the question; what's the point? And what does it have to do with what I said? How did we go from the SCG to the Celebration Bowl and from 3 years to 30 years?
