In the past, Churches of Christ might have been characterized as a sect, since they believed that they are not another denomination, but rather representatives of the one, true Church

The non-instrumental Chuches of Christ agree that the absence of references to instrumental music in New Testament worship mean that their use is forbidden.
I've had very serious discussions about these.

Divorce, except for reasons of marital infidelity, is condemned. Remarriage in these cases is considered adultery.
Me and one of my ex's friends had long discussions about this. Even my ex's cousin who really dont agree with most of their theology.

Generally, a belief that Churches of Christ are not a denomination. Most believe denominationalism itself is sinful, and hold that Christ established only one church. This doctrine is similar to earlier beliefs of Roman Catholicism.

Miraculous Gifts - including all manner of miracles, healing, prophesy, and speaking in tongues, etc. do not occur in the church of Christ today. These gifts were given to first century Christians for the purpose on confirming the Word of God. Now that the Word is complete, the need for miraculous gifts has ceased. Things that occur in our natural world using the natural laws God has set into motion (however spectacular) are sometimes erroneously called miracles. One example is child birth; many people refer to this as a miracle, when it was the way that God designs our bodies to work. Child birth would be no more of a miracle than food digestion. God is a tremendous creator, but the miracles we find in the bible are supernatural and clear evidence that devine power was demonstrated.
And here is where I discussed with one of the brethen that if the Holy Spirit distributes the gifts and I basically asked him what was his thoughts on the Holy Spirit. He told me that the Holy Spirit has departed with the gifts after the last apostle was crucified/killed or something to that nature.

Some of these are a matter of opinion and not necessary in accordance with the bible.

Not true

This has always been a "touchy" subject among the C of C, especially among the black churches. The bible teach is a party is guilty of infidelity, the innocent person has a right to divorce or remain with the guilty. If they divorce, then both parties have a right to re-marry.

And this is what I thought, cause what happens if someone is in an abusive marriage? If they divorce does that mean that they should/can not re-marry? I just didnt understand that one when discussing with my ex's friends.

True, that is why Jesus changed the law in the NT. In the OT women was abused and could not divorce their husbands, where as the husband could divorce for any and I mean any reason.

Jesus, does ask us to reconcile the differences "if possible" but if not leave him / her. Then "in layman terms" if you meet someone and you see that you are on the verge of fornification - marry him / her.

It's better to marry than to burn "in your lust"

A majority of the "old school" preaching comes from those that does not the bible.

We do have music in the church,it's call singing

I thought that was what they were trying to say but they worded it funny. They were saying its adultery for all cases except marital infidelity.

Well, see that's what got alot of them confused. They must have read it and interpret it wrong, cause alot of her friends really did not get a good understanding of that scripture.
