I'm a UMCP grad and seeing other HBCU bands marching on the field (Byrd Stadium) is hella rare (We've only had Morgan State and that was 3 years ago). But seeing a drum battle/percussion exchange between PWC and HBCU and actually having both sections and folks in the audience think twice and appreciate--if at all--is wonderfully epic.
If you didn't know that IU was like that, you're a beliver now; I know I was. SCSU, I didn't know even know was an HBCU. But they showed up and rung what they brung really well against those folks. Best of both worlds and a great apples and oranges type of meeting here. Even match here. Thoroughly enjoyed.
