FrmrPokeCntr,

If SU doesn't want to play the game just based on, "it just wouldn't feel right playing this game" from SU should be enough for McNeese. But to entertain your question, I've got friends and in-laws (some we're trying to call emergency help for) stuck in N.O. Not only that but I'm not even affiliated with SU, and I've got my own family down in Mobile to worry about. It's not just N.O. that has been messed up. If I was in Baton Rouge with any family member stuck, you better believe I would be constantly trying to ensure theirs and others safety by getting as close to N.O. as possible. Not just that, but these people would need a place to stay. F*** A GAME.

The turmoil and devestation being faced by everyone's friends and families in New Orleans is certainly justification for your "F*** A GAME" quote. I just hope that same sympathy and understanding is there when it is time to say the same thing for the next few SU games as well. Afterall, this situation is not going to be over for quite a while.

You are making a very big generalization and painting all the McNeese fans with a very large brush using the comments of a couple of McNeese fans (especially the guy LongtimePoke). I think most of us realize now what is more important and are trying to do whatever we can for the people affected by the disaster.

72, don't take one paragraph of my statements, and take it out of context. If you read my 2 post, they were not aimed at the McNeese family in general, I even referenced that in my first response.

My 2nd post went to the statements made by FPC, concerning the negative statements made by a few McNeese posters as being disappointment, and not insensitivity.

Believe me when I tell you, I realize that those comments made by a few is not the general feeling of the McNeese family, but I refuse to believe that those negative comments are just out of sheer disappointment. There's no way I can accept that as such.

The game being cancelled shouldn't even be an issue quite frankly, and the statements being defended as disappointment shouldn't be defended as such. It's utter stupidity, and flat out insensitive. I can't even see the point in trying to rationalize somebody's else's statements, when they are as blunt as they were. Sometime's it's best not to say anything at all, instead of opening your mouth defending foolishness.

I would hope that your feelings are not those expressed by a few, but if they are shame on you as well.

NICE

Let me get this straight, if SU plays another game this year, then McNeese got phugged, in your opinion????? Dude, tell me this is not your train of thought. It can't be.

I just have to wonder how those kids on McNeese's team that are from the New Orleans area, as well the gulf coast in Mississippi, feel about playing football right now. How effective are they going to be for you team knowing they don't know where their families, and friends are, or if they will even have a home to go back to when everything shakes out, or better yet if they will have a city to even call home again.

Did they say phugg the situation at home, it's time for the season to begin, let's play some football? I seriously doubt it, and they were probably just as happy that the game got cancelled, and if they can't get word from home, they will probably hope that the next game is cancelled until they get word, knowing that everybody is OK.

At some point SU will play a game, but until then, you, and the rest of the McNeese family that only care about football, should concern yourselves with the rest of the teams on your schedule, and forget about SU. The game has been cancelled, get over it.

His response sounds like something Jim Crow Jr would say. These student athletes are human and not his revenue and entertainment slaves!

Personally, I don't know why you all are surprised by their comments. Doesn't surprise me one iota.

Bottom line, the game's been cancelled and nothing they can say or do about it...fugg em.

I think the @ssholes are all lurking around this board.

Yall are just SOOOOOOOO full of yourself and eager to jump our sh@t and condemn us with all this holier than thou crap.

Fugg the game is right, believe me we are OVER it. By the way, How many of you Christian Soldiers have done ANYTHING at all to help the displaced citizens of your state besides run your mouth? I spent the evening helping serve meals the several thousand people sheltered in the civic center here. Get off your azz and do something!!!

Oh, and for the smart mouth asking me if I expected SU to not play football this year my ansswer is of course I NEVER SAID THAT. I did however say and mean that the crisis would not be over in a week or two so if SU played at Mumford withing the next couple weeks, That would be hypocricy at its finest.

All the time, effort and negative energy required to post about the "insensitivity" must be a huge drain on the massive volunteer relief efforts undertaken by the folks posting on this board.

I'm surprised that all of these humanitarians are able to take time out of their schedules to vent on a message board.

I wonder if Mother Teresa frequented message boards?
