Y&R goes gay!...I am out!

I have been following The Young & the Restless for over 25 years. But I be damned if I continue to watch the BS they are coming out with.

No disrespect to you gay folks out there...but gott damm!

Adam Newman (victor's son) - Gay
Phillip Chancellor (Nina's ex-husband) - Gay
That attorney guy - Gay.

Now I probably would have been cool with them just being gay characters, but when they showed that intimate moment... :sick: :shame:

That shit was just too much for me to take.

Guiding Light went gay as well, but not as touchy feely as the men are on y & r. :vomit:

I was wondering why the 1st Adam left, but hey, I ain't mad at him; he is evidently all man and wanted no parts of that junk.

As for Adam, I don't think he is gay, I just think he played that card to keep ole boy off the trail of finding him out as a fraud over the whole blindness thing and so that less attention would be focused on him as a suspect for all the stuff happening with Ashley. But, then again, if it walks like a duck, ... you know the rest....:smh:

Raf; that lawyer; well, he's gay; they tried to set him up on a couple of dates and dude never rolled with that...:smh:

Phillip; I never saw that coming...:smh:

In any case, I am with you; I told my sister just the other day that Y&R had lost a long time viewer with this crap....::mad:

I don't watch Y&R ( I like OLTL) but since they keep the same characters I know everyone on there but I have no idea who Adam Newman is...who is he by...that lady who was blind? Phillip? I think I remember him. I think back in the day there a huge story surrounding him, Kate and Jill. Who are Phillips parents.

Also SOGGY, you have to realize that soaps have to keep up with the times. I am sure a lot of gays watch the soaps and given the fact that soap ratings are at an all-time low, they need to keep things interesting. I mean, how many times can Y&R do a corporate take-over... lol

One Life to Live had a gay storyline back in the early 90s (with Ryan Phillipe playing the gay dude) so Y&R is just trying to catch up. :D That story ws not sexual tho. It dealt more with the religious side of it since the pastor was the gay guys confidant, they were accusing the pastor of inappropriate behavior as well. Oh, I forgot also, on OLTL a few years ago two people were murdered to hide the fact that this politician who was about to marry one of the leading ladies of the show (Nora Hannon Gannon Buchanan) was gay. This politician had a boyfriend on the side and I think the two guys may have gotten a little touchy-feely but I don't really remember much outside some hugs.

TP, like I said. I don't have a problem with gay characters, but don't shove the love seens down my through (no pun intended...sheesh).

On top of that...the gay characters just seem to pop out overnight.

oh wow! And I actually was about to start back watchin it. I grew up watching Y&R, but stopped in undergrad. When I went home to visit Ma last month, all the tvs are tuned in so I got caught up. nevermind now. :tdown:

Anywho, my Mom and I were discussing the exit of the last Adam...we said the same, exact thing. Homeboy said to hell with this gay shit and left. :lol:

Of course the two brothers were a former Power Ranger (who fans thought were gay to begin with) and a Calvin Klein model.

And you don't know what Noah's Arc was? Merge the Golden Girls, Sex in The City, Girlfriends and Queer as Folk- you get a show that would gave Will & Grace a run for the money.

That same ashley came back is playing the role now.. or at least she was a year or so ago.

Also, why did I watch OLTL last nite and they are about to start a gay storyline too. This girl seems to have a crush on her roommate (who is a cop) who has an eye for men. :lecture: He was out on a date with her and he and the male waiter keep lookin at each other.

So why do the gay storylines have to be about men....why not the women!!

Girlfriends wasn't gay-I was referring to the friendship aspect of 4 working people (in this case sistas) and you could slot the guys from Noah Arc into some of those aspects of the shows I mentioned.
