Jane did say she was wrong for being on that equipment and apologized. She recognizes that some people would never forgive her and has accepted that aspect of life.

Jane Fonda need to be realistic. These people are never going to forgive her. They just see her apology as a "BOOK SELLING" tool. They have had people on shows asking, "Why didn't she do this years ago. Now that she is trying to sell a book, now all of a sudden she apologized." Some people are just not going to buy it.

The surprise that I am experiencing is that people are now trying to glorify Vietnam ? It was an unjust war wrapped in lies (like Iraq). Americans have a short term memory.

As far as the Vietnam war .................check your facts. AMERICA DIDN'T START THIS WAR. THE FRENCH DID. When America came in under the radar to help their arses, THEY HAULED ARSE OUT .........BIG SURPRISE, FRENCH RUNNING. If you want to blame someone for this ......look to Europe.
 
There was no blame in my statement. We got out with our butts handed to us on a plate. If I wanted to blame anyone it would be the US goverment for thier inability to conduct a war.

As far as the French are concerned, they were correct - we were not - we have to admit that.

Th inability of the US goverment to conduct the war in Iraq is a ANOTHER prime example of THEIR failure (again).

Jane already said what you said.

This is true .................It's easy to get your butt's handed to you on a plate when the GOV. forbid's you to attack missile sites that are being built to shoot your arse down, or go into areas that you know the enemy is building up their strength in because they know that area is OFF LIMIT's to attack.

The French were correct, :xeye: , in trying to FORCE FEED THEIR POLITICS on one of THEIR PROVINCES, got beat down quick, then left the U.S. there to try and clean up their mess :xeye: ...............WHEN HAS THE FRENCH ADMITTED TO ANYTHING IN THIS "WAR". I must have missed those statements. :confused:

Well, somebody better tell the Chinese this.

Cause they are in Japans arse about the "CLEANSING" of their history books. They deleted their WW2 "good deeds" from all textbooks.

The Chinese are :kaioken: :kaioken: about this. They tried to rush the Japaneese embasy a couple of weeks ago.

Thats my point, the Chinese and other asians have NOT forgotten what the Japanese did during WWII. The Japanese have not forgotten either - they choose to paint over my past.
 
I predict that China will be the country that rises up and become the superpower to challenge the U.S. for supremacy?? Even thou the communist party runs China, the culture has always been capitalistic. The country is experiencing the world greatest economic growth.

I once thought the Europeans would unit and become an economical factors. The old Europeans will never agree on anything.

The cold war policy of containment wasn't even created for Asia. It was extended to a culture that we didn't even understand. "HO" came to us in 1945 after we had extracted the Japanese for aid and influence. We focus on the Marshall plan to rebuild Europe and Japan and lost sight of Asia except China. We didn't know that the Chinese and the Vietnamese were ancient enemies. We replace the French colonialists and got caught in a civil war that the american public recognized by 1968 and afterward, thanks to the anti-war protesters.

I agree - all great civilizations and powerhouses rise and fall ? if you travel to Europe, Middle East, Africa or Asia you will see the vestiges of great civilizations and powers. I think the US is headed on its downward path. It looks like China is the next great power of the world. They already have us in trouble by buying up a lot of our debt and producing most of our goods.

We need more people like Jane to stand up against society. We dont have to agree with these people, but a society full of sheep (as we have now) is a sad and dangerous site to see in a great nation.
