Man yall know what, There are some Vietnam Vets who felt the same way as Jane Fonda did over some 30 years ago. Just because she spoke her conscience; just because some fugging dyck-head don't agree with her politics he spits in her face??? I wonder if he would have spat in her face if she was a man? If she felt the war was wrong she had a right to protest it. Ali thought the war was wrong, so did MLK and Malcolm X.

SPIT or NOT TO SPIT.....................PERFER NOT TO.

But ...............to make a comment on the part's highlighted in your post:

1. Jane Fonda didn't JUST comment ........................SHE WENT TO AN ACTIVE, OPERATIONAL AND FULLY STAFFED ANTI-AIRCRAFT NORTH NAM BATTERY WHILE THE WAR WAS GOING ON. MADE SPEACHES FOR THEM AND LIED ABOUT THE TREATMENT OF AMERICAN POW'S WHILE THERE. THAT'S A BIG JUMP FROM "SPEAKING HER MIND" TO ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING. That's also why she will alway's be HATED BY THESE PEOPLE. SHE IS LUCKY ALL SHE GOT IS SPIT AS CRAZY AS PEOPLE ARE TODAY.

2. ALI ................REFUSED TO GO AND STAYED OUT OF IT.
MLK ...............PROTESTED BLACK INVOLVEMENT IN A WAR WHEN
BLACKS WERE NOT EVEN FREE AT HOME ..............ALI THE SAME.

3. MALCOLM X .....................SEE ALI and MLK.

ALI-- They took away is title.
MLK---They assassinated him because he was more influetial than ALI.
Malcolm was assassinated because he PROTESTED against "the Nation"

This country give it's citizens the right to protest as long those citizens protesting don't harm or abuse others while protesting.Protesting transforms to TERRORISIM when another citizen is hurt or killed.

Point.Every citizen in this country has a gotdayum right to protest, and if you don't agree what the other party protesting, then it's STILL within your gotdayum muthafugging constitutional right to protest what they are protesting.

My Lion, brother, I have to totally disagree. I opposed the war. I oppose us invading Iraqu. I totally support our troops. Visiting the enemy and posing on their anti-aircraft gun is quite different from Ali, MLK and Malcolm opposing the war.
Should Gore or Kennedy have gone over and posed on enemy tanks? My brother drove across a land mine; other friends were killed.
Opposing a war is quite different from consorting and sleeping with the enemy.

The guy ran!!! I did not know that. I am surprised.
Hey, then the guy who threw a grenade in our on tent was not wrong?

Actions against X and MLK were not because of the war. If they were, we know what happened to the black men. What happened to the white woman?
We have a right to protest. We do not have a right to visit the enemy. even if the enemy is totally right.
Her protest as you call it caused death and suffering of our troops...yes it did. It gave a psychological and moral boost to the enemy. It provided propaganda. I do not hate her but I understand those who do.

Many believes that the anti-war leaders and the protests actually saved lives in SEA. After Tet in 68, the protest led to a shift in public opinions with the realization that the war was unwinnable. Even though Nixon continued the war until 72, public opinion forced the pols to look for exit strategy.

Fonda has admitted that her visit to North Vietnam was wrong. That's good enough for me. We cannot continue to fight the ghosts of a controversial, bloody, cold war encounter where we never lost a battle but lost the war. We just refought it during the recent presidential election. It time to let this divisive chapter in our history go.

When you look up sellout in the dictionary, there should be a picture of Jane Fonda there.

I must agree with you. Were not for the outcry from americans the war may have drug on for years. I am so glad there was such vocal opposition to the war.
What JF did was not vocal opposition it was treason.

You have answered your own question - the guy spit on Jane Fonda - americans cant disagree and be civil.

Jane did say she was wrong for being on that equipment and apologized. She recognizes that some people would never forgive her and has accepted that aspect of life. I am personally happy that people protested that war. I was not going to Vietnam, I would have gone to college forever or off to Canada. I know it?s not politically correct to talk against the Iraq war or protest the war in Iraq, but if we don?t get out in a couple of years, people will start protesting. The lies about the war and the cost will catch up with people sooner or later if the war continues.

The surprise that I am experiencing is that people are now trying to glorify Vietnam ? It was an unjust war wrapped in lies (like Iraq). Americans have a short term memory.

Richard Nixon and J. Edgar Hoover also thought it was treason. Yet no charges were ever brought. If you look at the film footage, you see a JF in a fog. Her life story confirms this. Patrotism means love of your country not your government and its policies. Many of us who lived during the time of the war felt she was protesting our government policies in the same way J Kerry did after his return from SEA or Bill Clinton in England.

This was the same communist sack of isht b*tch that posed for pictures with North Vietnamese soldiers and gave them notes passed to her from american pow's. I wish it would have been a .45 caliber slug that was slung into her face in lieu of a plug of tobacco.

Fugg her and her communist sympathisizing ideals. I hope she dies a long slow death of aids, cancer, and flesh eating virus syndrome!

I hope she dies with her eyes open and is so disfigured that she can't have an open casket funeral!

F*CK HER AND THE GROUND SHE WALKS ON!!

I will make a pilgimage to her grave site so I can take a ISHT on her burial mound!!!

I can understand being angry at what she did 30 years ago. But at some point you have to let it go. She's apologized, the war is over, move on. Even if you don't forgive her actions, that's not excuse for the kind of actions you're talking about. Just like most Blacks didn't spit on the grave of the Strom Thurmonds and George Wallaces, men whose words and actions were 100 times worse than anything Fonda ever did, no one should still hold that kind of anger towards Jane. Its childish.
