The simple Bastard from the Cubs game last night...

J-State Tiger

Senate Candidate #7
I say Got Dayum! Why oh why oh why!!!!

Luis Castillo hit what appeared to be a very playable foul fly down the left-field line, and Moises Alou was in position to make the catch. Alou jumped and reached into the stands, but just before the ball dropped into his glove, a male fan who appeared to be in his 20s deflected the ball away as he tried to make the catch.

"He said he had it perfectly timed," Baker said.

The ball dropped into the stands as Alou screamed. Despite vigorous protests from the Cubs and their fans for interference, it was simply ruled a foul ball, and Castillo went back to the plate.

One pitch later, he drew a walk.

Other fans tossed beer at the fan and shouted profanities and threats at him. A handful of security guards quickly escorted him from his seat, his face covered with a sweater as he walked to a security room.

Some fans were yelling, "Kill him!" and "You cost us the World Series!" as he was being led away.

"He possibly cost us the pennant, and I want to know if it was worth a $20 ball? What a loser," said Sean Henning, who was sitting about five rows back.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!

the look on his face aftwerward was priceless.

I was damn near in tears LMAO!!!!

the fans were throwing schitt at him

but to be honest, it wasn't that dude's fault. Plus, to try to catch a foul ball is a natural reaction. Heck, everybody in that section was there trying to catch the ball too. And at the time of "the catch", the score was 3-0. Final score 8-3.

but it's still funny as L!!!!

I feel what you are saying, but it is dude's fault MH. Everybody that went up for the ball started to sit back down after they saw Alou calling for it. He was the only idiot still trying to reach for it. He could have waited until the play was over, and Alou probably would have threw the ball to him. That might have cost the Cubs the series. We never will know if Alou he was going to catch the foul ball....:(

LMMFAO@ the Geek that messed it up for the Cubs, make it worse he had a Cubs hat on lol....

When I saw that play last night, I immediately turned to my wife and said, they better get that guy out of there because he is going to get his azz kicked if the Cubs lose.

I'm not going to say he cost them the game, but he sure didn't help their cause. We know the Cubs can stand to have all the help they can get.

When they showed him again after Florida went up 4-3, he looked like "how am I gonna get out of here."

THE GOAT IS ALIVE AND WELL! :lmao:

I have to disagree that it was his fault.
What about the error that Alex Gonzalez made on a sure double play ball to end the inning.
What about the wild pitch that was thrown to move Pierre to 3rd base and walk the batter. If the batter was smart he should have taken off running fast and could have gotten to 2nd base on that ball.
What about Dusty Baker leaving Prior in to pitch more that inning when you could see he was running out of steam on pitch 100. He was up over 120 pitches before he was pulled.

There was 3 fans that reached up for the ball and even if Alou would have caught it, there was a runner on base and he couldn't throw it in the stands cause that runner would have tagged up and scored.

Why did Dusty Baker waste a relief pitcher just to give a batter a intentional walk? the previous pitcher could have thrown 4 balls.
And like someone else said, the Cubs was still up 3-0. I was listening on the radio on my way to work, I stop to go into Walgreens and when I get back in my truck I hear the announcer talking about after 7 the Marlins on up to bat. I was initially thinking he was talking about after 7 innings, come to hear he was talking about after 7 runs scored.

I hate that they are going to blame that man for the lost and it was a total team effort from manager on down that lost that game.

I don't think they should be mad because they couldn't get one out because an idiot fan. There are 27 outs in baseball and they shouldn't try to blame all of this drama all on the fan.

The Lamont (Big Dummy) had to be escorted out by Cubs' security. See thats why I hate fair weather fans. If he was a true DIE HARD CUBS FAN, his head would have been in the game and would not have made an attempt to catch the ball. Yeah, there were other prople trying to make the catch as well, but they where they were seateded truely in foul territory and their actions would not affected the outcome. He interfered and if you are a REAL sports fan, you know nothing is a given. You have to take advantage of every oppurtunity that you can because you NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER know whats going to happen on the next play. Just like when Ramirez dove four that foul bunt by Castillo. That got them out of a jam. Him and Pierre are couple of pesky damn mosquitos.

To be honest ................... The botched infield play that came 2 batters later did waaaaay more damage than the fan. If they turn that double play ........... they get out of the inning with a 3-1 or at worst a 3-2 lead.

See this is what Cub fans have to endure. People who jump back and forth from team gets no respect. If you can't deal with the highs and the lows, it serves no purpose. Man, this **** hurts. This '84 all over again.

LOOK, without the interference and the catch made, those many players would no been on base in the first place. That added the extra base runner.

But it was not interference!
They did not reach into the field of play and touch that ball!

"Chicago fire fighter Pat Looney was seated next to the fan, whose identity was not released, and said there was no misconduct.

It looked like it was out of play. Don't blame him,'' Looney said. I should've pushed him out of the way. If I saw Alou coming, I would have.

He wasn't leaning over. He was behind the rail, he didn't know Alou was coming,'' he said. ``It looks like I touched the ball, but I didn't. I got 50 hate calls already. The firehouse where I work is being bombarded.''

What about the wild pitch thrown by Prior, the error made by Gonzalez and the throwing error made by Grudzielanek .

It was not officially fan inteference, it was moron interference. That rule has not been put in the rule books yet, but they better be working on it. And are you a White Sox Fan like Bernie Mac? He was wrong for not including the Cubs during the 7th inning stretch. But I understand. He was on the news stating that he was Sox fan. He also said that they were sorry. I will give him his props, that was showing true allegiance to your team. If a REAL Cubs fan was asked to do the same thing if asked to sing at Cominscky Park. I know it has a new name but so what. In Chicago you are either a Cubs or a Sox fan. You can't be both.

Oh so true, my allegience is to the Southside Hitmen. I could never be a true Cubs fan, I'll root for them being from Chicago and all BUT.........

I laughed when he did that during the song. Hey he did have on a Cubs jacket and he did sing it better than most of the folks they usually get to do it.

And yes, it will always be Cominsky Park and not that other crap they sold out too.

Bet. You cool.

Have you ever heard a 89 year old man cry over a baseball game? If not then you would have heard it last night. My Great Granddaddy was heated he couldn't even talk...

:smh:

the ball was in the stands so he had every right to make a play for it. Look at the exposure he received also...even though it was not for great things

My thoughts exactly. Especially the error by Gonzalez and Baker not pulling the pitcher. I was screaming at the t.v. for Dusty to pull him but he wouldn't listen to me.:)

Regards.

Being that I've been a Cubs fan since the late 80s, I was on pins and needles in the 8th inning!! There was 1 out and the Cubs only needed 5 more outs to make it to the World Series. This would have been heaven for me!! To see the Cubs in the Series is a dream for me!!

Then, it happened!! Foul ball is in the air. Alou is going for it even though it is in the stands. He feels that he can reach into the stands and get the foul ball. Then, this moronic, dumb arse has his hand up blocking Alou and the ball hits his grubby little hand!!! The batter gets another pitch and he ends up being walked. From that moron's move, everything snowballed into an 8 run inning for the Marlins!!

I was glad to see the fans letting him have it. I know I heard some boos and some "Arsehole" chants in the stands. Then they gave him some free beer (as well they should have)!! If I was there and I saw Alou coming for the ball, I would have knocked that idiot down and let Alou try to catch the ball.

I know somebody is going to have a sign tonight that will call for fans not to try to catch foul ball!! At least we have Kerry Wood going to the mound. I hope he can pull this one out. We need it!!

Everyone here at work has acknowledged that this man is a colossal jackarse. If you are going to the ball park, you gotta have your head in the game. He was sitting in the front row. He should have known that Alou would be in the area. I could see if this guy was 2 or 3 rows back. I could see if it was a woman or an infant.

So what if other fans reached for the ball? Jack was the only one that touched it, so he gets the blame. I say, Prior gets that out, then there's no pressure on Gonzalez to try and turn 2, and theres no error on that ground ball. Cubs get out of the inning no worse than 3-1.

Everything else that happen happend as a result of that play. Can you imagine how hype the crowd and team would have got if Alou made that grab? It would have been lights out on the Fish.

He is an associate at Hewitt, and he is not coming to work today because of the incident,"

they need to let it go. It's not that guy's fault. I think folks just want a scapegoat. But the Cubs just lost that game. Suck it up and get 'em in game 7

po man didn't even go to work today because of it.

If the moron would have taken the head phones off his head, he probably would have heard Alou calling for the ball!!

Thats what killed me. Didnt he hear the Radio Announcer say, Alou was coming over for the catch?

Ol Boy needs to be in the church house tonight praying for the Cubs to win, so folks can forget about this. If the cubs dont win, he might want to think about moving, cause his kids and stuff probably wont be safe.

Let me say one time CLEARLY. THE BALL PARK IS NO PLACE FOR HOMER SIMPSON TYPE BUFFONERY.
