Despite a convincing 35-7 victory over Texas Southern in a Thursday night primetime game on ESPNU, the “FIRE COMEGY” chants rained downed as the Blue Bengal faithful were still on edge from a disappointing lose to arch rival Tennessee State last Saturday.

This isn’t the first time that Comegy has been placed on the hot seat. In 2011 the team was banned from postseason play due to poor ARP scores which didn’t sit well with the JSU brass.

JR, you know they told him if he loses the game against SU that his fat ass is out the door. jsu fired probably one of their best coaches (Hughes) they ever had for losing consecutive games against SU, which is how booger got hired.

A lie don't care who tells it. Hughes hung a foot square up SU's ass 3 straight years when he got fired.

Hughes got his ass whipped consecutively in one year (1999) by SU. And yes he beat SU his last 3 years, but he just couldn't get back to the SWAC championship game after taking that consecutive ass whipping from SU in 1999 in the regular season game and in the inaugural championship game, which is something the jsu faithfuls couldn't get over. And then y'all hired Bell, which lead to who y'all have now, Booger.

Hughes didn't get fired for losing to us. He was 3-2 against Pete.

I thought that was odd. I wouldn't think the JSU fans would do that to Comegy at this stage. He ain't losing like that where the fans would be that pissed. Lol.

No it didn't, but losing the inaugural SWAC Championship to Pete and not making it back to the title game is what really got him fired. And what also made it bad on him, he lost to Pete twice in one year (1999).
