The NFL Draft...my team needs this player

You guys can play dumb if you like. It is called having good depth with contributers. I rather take a chance with MULTIPLE PICKs than to roll the dice for just one pick. Jones can play. But just like you saw Green Bay this year. They had all those draft choices of theirs step up to the plate when injuries arose. Same in Pittsburgh when Holmes got dealt. They drafted 2 nice young WRs in late rounds that help them get to the SB. Hell one of them saved the day against Baltimore. You mortgaged your depth with the ability to draft many players. Minnesota is going to pay for it too for giving NE those picks for Randy Moss.

I could understand if yall had no WRs. But you got a pro bowl one. All you needed was another complimentary one that would stay off IR which Jenkins has done and not shown up. I still say getting another pass catching TE that could block would have helped yall even more since yall do like to run the ball. Then they could mentor under Gonzo. I like TEs that can stretch the field. LBs can't stay with them and they are too big for most safeties.

So all this mortgaging the future for HOF stuff is over the top. Nobody said you did that. We are just commenting on the we rather have Jones than 4-5 other college players if you had decided to trade down like NE does all the time. With Free Agency you need that depth. Because some of your players you currently have on that roster will be coming up for contracts soon and you will not have those picks to back fill. But if that aint the Falcons philosophy that is on them. Like I said, I am glad my Steelers don't think that way as an organization.
JR save ur thesis for those who don't know football. Get back with us at the end of this football year.

So u could understand giving up five picks for a QB but not a WR. Hmmmmmm........well just keep on writing articles and leave the front office decisions to front office personnel.

That's too many for a QB too. LOL. But we know some teams have done that. If you scouts and GMs have done their homework and you have great schemes, you can back fill players that were not All-Americans and win. You just have to know how to do it. Some teams do and some teams don't. But giving up a lot of picks for one player has normally been a bad thing in the NFL. Especially with the way these players get hurt. They are bigger, faster and stronger than in the past. So you got to have good quality depth now to win it all.

Yes. QB is a more important position that WR. Besides, it's not like the Falcons desperately needed a WR to begin with. The Birds defense was average last season. If I was in the War Room, that side of the ball I would have addressed first.

Well Beans, if you totally agree with your front office on this, then you need to read my thesis. And don't say nothing when the board brings up this thread at the end of the year because your defense gave up the ghost against somebody in the playoffs or if the Falcons don't make it. The NFC South is tough. Outside of Carolina, the other 3 teams are capable of winning the division. A 13-3 record will not be seen by Atlanta this year.

Glad ur not cause we would be further behind the eightball.

Yall must have watched the FALCONS games on a weekly basis. Not just the highlights, but watched their games

No other way yall could be so emphatic about this.

And yet we ROSE UP to a 13-3 record with a fairly young team. Lol u all have no clue. Lets see what FA brings us. We should have some money to spare to get some good defensive guys since we "mortgaged" our future with all those future draft picks.
