A rap mogul named Summer G has everything he could ever want, with one exception: the love of his life, who's now married to a philandering Wall Street tycoon (Underwood). He risks it all just to get her back.

Yeah, I saw the screening. I agree with the opening poster. Not bad, but it had the potential to be great and doesn't live up to it. Awesome cast. . . decent story. . .poor adaptation and treatment of subplots. . .makes the wrong kind of statement if your looking for one. I ended up having the feeling of an upscale gang banging movie. Judging from the directors and actors speil that's not what they were going for.BluBlood said:Is this the movie they were promoting in Memphis at the game? D-NICE said:Not out of the ordinary though. Some movie houses hold movies that have been completed years ago. They like to look at market trends before releasing them. Jamie Foxx's "Breaking All The Rules" was completed 2 years prior to it's release, but it was put on hold, because the thought was the market was flooded too heavily with black love stories.
Another thing they look at, is if the movie has potential to make some money. If it's not an independant film, some companies will look at the finished product, and decide if it's even worth spending money on promotions, because it will bomb at the box office, especially if the movie doesn't have a big named star in it. Some of the movies are lucky to even make it to the box office, because the movie house may decide to just send it straight to video, or do what they did with this movie, and open it in select markets, and not wide release. Sort of like Spike Lee's "She Hate Me."
