You know, as I ride around in SE Alabama, things are much different than when I was coming up in high school and college. When I was in high school for example, for a white and black to date (essentially a black male and a white female; i don't recall any black females dating white females when I was in Jr High and high school although I'm sure there was) stirred up contraversy. As I ride around today though, it seems mixed couples, even black females and white males, are pretty common. The thing that really stuns me is that my paradigmn on mixed couples used to be that white females only got involved with black males that were athletes, had money, etc, but i'm seeing increasingly that there is no particular trend. I'm seeing these young black guys who are your stereo-typical baggy/saggy pants/sweats wearing, nappy hair with the big fros or plats/braids having, hooptie car riding (some have nice "drug dealer" looking cars) types riding around with white girls some of whom are not your stereo-typical fat, nasty, "PWT" slob types. Some of these white females look respectable, like their parents/relative may have major pain with them dating black guys. This I find very different from when I was coming up. What's going on here? Is this a rebellion thing among the young set today, or is society simply changing due to the innundation of the "hollywood/MTV" pop culture? Also it seems that this increasingly doesn't get a second look from what I can tell, which is pretty cool. It's amazing to me to walk into your SuperWalmart,,, walking in amongst these p-woods with the confederate regalia and rebel flag gear (i mean,, some of your ruffest looking customers that you think would just as soon string a black male up for even looking at a white female) on all while walking behind/past some white female with probably the traditional white southern male's traditional/historical worst nightmare some rap-hip/hop black "hoodlum", or some white male with a black female.

What do you think is the single biggest thing responsible for "integrating" the races and making interracial relationships more acceptable/less contraversial:
- Sports/Athletics (where blacks and whites even in traditionally racially intolerant regions are exposed to each other and have been over the decades since de-segregation bringing the races into contact and creating many more opportunities for interracial dating despight pressure from both whites and blacks.)
- The Military (where kids of all races mix from early ages)
- Music/Videos/Pop Culture
- Other (some other social trend or general change in society that I have not mentioned.)
