I'm for that, but no 12 game seasons.... you'd have to have like a 10 game season, so teams would only play within their conference with 2 OOC's if it's a 8 game conference mandate or 1 OOC if it's a 9 game mandate?

When you look for a solution, you must first define the problem. What was the problem with the BCS? I think the #3 team sometimes felt like Left Out Lamont. Well, going to 8 teams does not solve that. It's overkill. If there was a #5 team or a #8 team claiming they deserved to be National Champs, then I could understand 8 but that has never been the case. People need to recall WHY the +1 game was put in place. In other words, this whole thing has lost any LOGICAL (Thanks TP.. wait, can I thank myself? :confused: ) focus!

The ONLY reason I would agree with this is that I LOVE ME SOME GOOD FOOTBALL. If I have to see Ohio State vs Elon or Newberry State one more time, I will vomit. The thought of having some of those matchups are great especially since so many of those schools are scared to schedule each other during the year. BUT, I still think it's too much for a college system.

First of all, I had no problem with the BCS (especially since my team won 3 of the last 5 :emlaugh: ).

Secondly, when two thirds of the Top 25 makes the playoff, the season loses a lot of its luster. And speaking of that, I agree with whoever it was that used to say "college football already has a playoff . . . it starts in September, and ends in December . . . its call The Season". . .

Not having a playoff where everybody and their brother gets to go, is what made the BIG TIME College Football Season great ! ! ! The games meant something, 'cause you knew there wasn't a playoff to bail you out if you lost a game or two. Think of last year . . . Bama is rolling right along, undefeated and headed for a date with destiny - Three National Championships in a row . . . until one of the craziest plays in college football history occured in Auburn, and its game over. Now, because of that, you might think I'd be for a playoff - but I'm not. If there had been a playoff last year, the Crimson Tide (who dropped to 4th after the Iron Bowl) would have still been in the mix . . . and you know Auburn didn't want to face Bama again a few weeks later after escaping at home. With the playoff, you don't get that finality during the season. With sixteen teams
, half of the SEC would be in the playoffs . . .

But that's what Y'ALL wanted, but as they say . . . be careful what you ask for . . . 'cause you just might get it . . .
