DO U FIND THE BIBLE HARD TO UNDERSTAND... DO YOU BELEIVE EVERY THING THAT THE BIBLE SAYS....... IF SO WHY ARE THERE SO MANY DIFFRENT DEMONATIONS IN THE WORLD TODAY.....LET ME KNOW WHAT YALL AR THINKING.....

I believe the Bible is the undisputed truth. It is the inspired word of God. The reason there have been so many denominations is because people have disagreed on interpretations of scriptures in the bible.

Great Topic

I believe there are so many denominations because many denominations are scared of the truth or too traditional. Some churches just like the name or they need the support of the denomination. For instance... I really don't understand Full Gospel Baptist Church... If you are full Gospel doesn't that mean that you aren't Baptist? I really don't know... And Church of our Lord God In Christ... Is that the same as COGIC? Living in Detroit you see alot of off the wall Church Names and denominations. Very Confusing... I do understand some but not alot of them. I think thats why we have alot of independent churches. Independent churches are more successful in the long run from what I have witnessed. THATS MY OPINION.

I BELIEVE EVERYTHING THAT THE BIBLE HAS SAID. GOD SAID IT I BELIEVE IT THAT SETTLES IT. AMEN

Church of God in Christ and COGIC are one in the same. I think Full Gospel Baptist is a Baptist/COGIC hybrid. Some people wanted COGIC under the Baptist banner. I don't think they wanted to embraceall the rules of the COGIC church. I'm not sure about the Church of our Lord in Christ. Everybody wants to do there own thing, so they split with an existing demoninations. Many splits came during the time of the civil war. Churches (demoninations) had different views about the institution of slavery.

The protestant church split with the Catholics over worldy issues. Of course all groups will use scriptures from the bible to support their cause.

There are NO different Churches. There are different Congregations (who have different names), but make up ONE Church. All Congerations do not have to have the same name. Names of Congregations sometimes depend on their location and their various interpretations of the bible. That's why Paul in the bible said things like, "To the church a Ephesus, or to the Church at Corinth."

Also, look up the word "Churches" in a bible concordance. It's in the new testament multiple times when referring to different congregations.
It's not in the bible to imply that there are multiple bodies of Christ, but rather to acknowledge different gatherings of the saints "churches" that make up one complete body of Christ, regardless of their names.

We are going to have more than one religion for the simple reason, the Jewish church (temple) was already established when Christ came. However, when Paul and Timothy were establishing churches, they were not establishing churches based on the Jewish religion. Their churches were built on the teachings of Christ.

I believe the reason why there are so many denomination is people. God is a constant, he never changes. He remains the same. But People and I already stated this before want to do what they want to do. Some dont want children in the worship service, new denomination. Some dont want to give God their best, new denomination. Some want to go to church for an hour only, new denomination.

I believe the reason is the people. People are different.

This is just my opinion but different religions derived from groups of individuals interpreting the scriptures to fit their beliefs. Often times interpretations of scriptures do not consider people, customs and culture of the given time of the writings.

My motto is .."When in Doubt go to the Scriptures" because it is the only truth. History goes hand in hand with the Scriptures.
My other motto is.... "Don't believe what the preacher tells you, verify so that you will know with no uncertainties".

I learned these mottoes from my "New Christian" Class based upon the "The Indwelling of Christ" using the hand.

A topic that can get people really stirred up "Women In The Pulpit". This is a topic I do not discuss, it goes with politics.

NastyQDawg,
What part of my post don't you agree with. You know that believers who have accepted Jesus make up God's Church. You know there is only one church. You know there are different physical congregations of saints that make up one spiritual church (regardless of what they call themselves). Why do you beg to differ? You do realize that it's the Name of Jesus that saves us into the church, and Not the name of your denomination, right?

Please explain you 'differing'.

WE REVERANCE GOD BECAUSE HE'S GOD BUT WE DON'T CALL HIM REV. WE KNOW THAT GOD IS ALL POWERFUL SO THEREFORE WE GIVE HIM ALL THE PRAISE. ALL I DO IS PROCLAIM THE WORD IN GOD'S NAME.

You know I have thought the same thing. I also thought the bible was just one big diary of things that happened in those times cause of the different stories and versions. You know kinda like a rumor....Its been told and passed on by many people that you have so many different versions of it and you sometimes no know what to believe. Thats where faith steps in. You have to have faith and believe that there is a GOD almighty. He will show you the way.

You are correct - there is only one church, that is the Church of Christ. All individuals have to do is read and understand English. Although the NT was written in Greek. The Greek's were scholors of the language. If anyone study the history of religion and churches, they will find the Church of Christ started on the Day od Pentacost around 33 AD. At that time the C of C was the only church that exsited. I was not until 606 AD some 500 years later Bonfice started the Catholic Church and out of the Catholic Movement all other churches started.

It's just a matter of nouns, verbs, and personal pronouns.

The bible teaches the truth but everything in the bible is not true. Satan said that you will be like God - that is not true. But it is true that he said it.

Only God is "REV" not man. Therefore, whenever a man takes on the title of "REV" he is placing himself on the same level as God.

BIBLE HERMANUTICS AND EXEGESIS

FOR A PERSON TO THINK THAT ANOTHER MAN HAS TAKEN THE PLACE OF GOD MAKES NO SENSE. SO YOU ARE SAYING THAT JUST BECAUSE THEY CALL DAVID KING, THAT HE WAS HIGHER THAN GOD. NO. DAVID WAS A MAN AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART. THAT'S WHY GOD IS REFERRED TO AS THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. GOD CHOSE ME AND I KNOW THAT WHENEVER I STAND TO PREACH, I PRAY THAT GOD SIT ME DOWN AS A PERSON SO THAT PEOPLE CAN GET THE MESSAGE NOT THE SEE THE MESSENGER.

There is still only ONE Church. The Body of Christ (One True Church) has always been made up of people who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, regardless of what name is on the sign outside of their church building. In order to realize this, we have to start Knowing God more(relationship), instead of just ?breaking Him down? to an opinionated science(religion).

The name of Jesus saves, not the name of a congregation. There are true Christians at Baptist congregations, Pentecostal congregations, Catholic congregations, Church of Christ congregations, Church of God IN Christ congregations, Non-denominational congregations, etc. As long as you except Jesus, you?re Saved and are in the Body of Christ, period. If you teach anything other salvation than that, you are officially just another Religion.;)

rev

Call it what you want to. If your last name is Rockefeller, then you expect everyone to treat you like a "Rockefeller" You expect to receive the entire honor and benefits that goes along with the name. In fact the title ?rev? is not used in the NT as one being an offical in the Church. The names of NT Church officials are Bishop, Elders, Shepherds or Overseers.

The title of Reverence or Reverend comes from the Hebrew word Yare' and is pronounced yaw-ray?. Which means to fear, be afraid, to stand in awe of, be awed to fear, reverence, honor, respect, to be fearful, be dreadful, be feared, to cause astonishment and awe, be held in awe, to inspire reverence or godly fear or awe.

Now, why would God approve mankind using the title Reverend, when by definition alone it refers back to God?

?And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell? {MT. 10:28}

Jesus, said fear no man. What you are saying is because of the title a man place on him {NOT GOD} others are suppose to fear him.

In Ephesians, reverend is used again as Paul is talking about the relationship between Sara and Abraham. This reverence means phobeo or phobia ? {fear, be afraid, be afraid of, reverence} similar mining but the relationship is different. In neither case do the bible teach that man should take on the title of reverend.

Now explain why ?some? men / women use the title Reverend? And Jesus did not use the title.

Can you prove this scriptually? What is a Christian?

If that true - then why not follow all the teaching of Christ rather than following a "religious body" that started after the Day of Pentecost and in a location that is not biblical. The bible teaches that the one and only true church - will start in Jerusalem. In fact the bible does not talk about the Catholic, Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, JW and others. Therefore, they are non biblical "religious" bodies. And Jesus, "God see them" but do not recognize them or it's members as being his sheep.

'Christians' are Saved believers according to the book of Acts.

If Saved believers began to call themselves Baptists, they're STILL saved.
If Saved believers began to call themselves Catholics, they're STILL saved.
If Saved believers began to call themselves Non-denominational, they're STILL saved.
If Saved believers began to call themselves Church of God in Christ, they're STILL saved.

Our being accepted into God's family is not dependant on what we call ourselves. Heck, God Himself had a 100 names, but He was still God It's not even dependant on what we look like, what our social status is, or how much money we have. It's rather SOLELY dependant on the fact that we've confessed & excepted Jesus, p-e-r-i-o-d.

The bible teaches that the one and only true church - will start in Jerusalem. In fact the bible does not talk about the Catholic, Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, JW and others. Therefore, they are non biblical "religious" bodies.
In your opinion these are "non biblical" religious bodies but I say "WHO CARES about religious anything?" Not God.

God is concerned with this: Have you accepted my Son Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Are you trying to live 'like Christ'? Are you developing your relationship with me? Man focuses on proving their religions, Christians focus on improving their relationship with God.

This is the difference between People's Religions and God's Relationships:

Religion with people is concerned about winning bible arguments.
Relationship with God is about winning lost souls.

Religion with people is concerned with foolishness like: "your congregation has a different name than mine!"
Relationship with God is concerned with: "Thank God that you're in church being encouraged to live like Jesus."

Religion with people is concerned with foolishness like: "we were here first, we were started first, our religion was the original! Look at our history!"
Relationship with God is concerned with: "TODAY is the day of salvation!"

People's religion is concerned with: "I know Greek, Hebrew, bible history and all the scriptures."
Relationship with God is concerned with: "How well do I know God Himself?"

ONE Spiritual Church, Multiple Physical Congregationswith multiple names. One body, many parts. If you're the hand, just be the best hand you can be and leave the leg alone just because his name and function is different than yours.

p.s. The original question was, "Is the Bible hard to understand?" Well, the bible isn't that tough to understand but Man's Religion will have you really lost sometimes so let's leave that stuff where it is.

H my friend, I never said that people should should be scared or "afraid" of me. If anyone is not saved, of course that person will get scared or "afraid" because of what can happen to them. And just speaking from a precher's standpoint, there are no "BENIFITS" in preaching. The joy comes from you knowing that whenever you get the chance to minister the word to someone that you have told then what God has put in your heart. People never have to give me dime for preaching because Jesus said in the new testament that freely ye receive; freely ye shall give. As long as I know who the ultimate REV is, I fine. Ask your pastor or any other preacher you know and ask them why they use the title Rev. and see what they tell you. Peace for now.
