Iran’s Revolutionary Guard sidelines president as military grip expands​


Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the elite branch of the Iranian Armed Forces, has blocked President Masoud Pezeshkian’s presidential appointments and erected what sources described as a security cordon around Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, a report published Tuesday by Iran International said.


The IRGC effectively has assumed control over key state functions, the report claimed.

"It was always a matter of when, not if, the IRGC was going to step forward even more than it has in the last three decades," Behnam Ben Taleblu, senior director of the Iran program at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told Fox News Digital.

Pezeshkian has reached a "complete political deadlock" as tensions between his administration and the military leadership deepen, according to the report.

Right, if people didn't know that they should have caught on something was different the moment Iran began bombing neighboring Arabic countries. Muslim yes, but Arabic not. Shiite Muslims, while the rest of the Arabic world are Sunni Muslims.

As you indicated their culture has survived many years whether they conquered or were conquered. Here in America the Greeks and Romans are romanticized so much, to make white folks feel they are superior. little is said about other empires throughout world history.
 



WASHINGTON, April 22 (Reuters) - Navy Secretary John Phelan has been fired, a source familiar with the matter said on Wednesday, ‌in another wartime shakeup at the Pentagon coming just weeks after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth ousted the Army's top general.

The Pentagon said in a statement that Phelan was "departing the administration, effective immediately," without providing further details. Reuters was the first to report Phelan was fired.
