Texas Southern Withdraws From SWAC Tournament

hmmm lets see....

#20 from Southern started this whole thing.... which at the end caused TSU a chance to compete for the NCAA Tournament.... Now TSU do qualify for the WNIT for being the SOLE REGULAR SEASON SWAC CHAMPIONSHIP.

Now the SWAC reversed two suspension #23 who clearly ran off the bench, and Pernell who was clearly pushing players, and not suspending #11 for coming of the bench, but yet they suspend eight players from TSU, where I only saw 3 TSU players throw punches... So the SWAC suspends five additional players for running off the bench or on the court but do not do the same for Southern is unacceptable....

Three of SU players #4 #20 #5 was ejected late in the season for running off the bench.

Blue you play like SU was the victim but it was clear in the video, SU started the fight, SU sucker punched TSU players from behind not once but twice. Yet TSU gets the short end of the stick

There is no NCAA suspension for leaving the bench.

I'm sure there was a point earlier in the game, the refs could have set the tone and taken control, but at that point it was clear it had been building up and there was no stopping it.

A fight like that doesn't happen in a vacuum

Again, the game was not chippy, and the refs had called two flagrant fouls earlier in the game. There was no build up. Hell, there really wasn't even a whole lot of trash talk going on. The refs had control all game until that incident.

J4L, I think what he is saying is that if that is the case, there should have been some TSU suspensions rescinded. Not sure if I agree wholly with that. Would need to see the video again.

Oh really but when I said about how a few of our girls left the bench to BREAK UP the fight, you made a sarcastic remark. Point blank, whoever threw punches should get suspended and I don't what school you play for. I can't even tell how many from TxSU threw punches but Johnson and Sophus should stay as is.

Um. try again. Go Go Gadget Arms.

You said there were 4 players from SU who never left the bench. I countered that saying that wasn't true. I NEVER said how many people threw punches for EITHER side because I don't know. Even after watching the video, because even the VIDEO doesn't show EVERYTHING that was going on. Don't care how much y'all try, you won't pull me away from the facts of what happened and into the school-based, emotional reactions. And btw, I even ended by saying that I don't even know if I agree with what he said.

Southern knew they wasn't going to win the championship so they took TSU down with them, smh. This crab in a barrel mentality amongst blacks must stop!

You are just taking up for them that's all smfh

What? That doesn't even make sense to you....much less anyone else. Anyone that threw a punch, by rule, is to be ejected and suspended. Anyone who left the bench, by rule, is to be ejected. How is that taking up for ANYBODY?

So we made them throw punches huh? Folks don't control their own actions anymore? Grown folks?

So, i'm sure 15 people didn't throw punches. Everybody shouldn't be suspended. Probably suspended for the 1st half in the games if you left the bench but not the whole game.

Right!

Jag-BR, I agree in principle with what you are saying, but everyone that didn't throw a punch wasn't necessarily trying to break up the fight either. At this point, it doesn't really matter anymore. The damage is done, and there is yet another black eye for this conference that has extended from bands, to football, to track, to baseball, to basketball.

Yep. It's done!

Hey it happens, you move on...

Not a SWAC specific epidemic in college life. Thank God for OU and NFL Free Agency.
