Texas Southern vs Prairie View A&M: Game Updates - 5:00pm CT

What a great job of coaching by Mike Haywood. sTu didn't have much to work with, but he coached a very smart game. He had PV on the ropes. If sTu had a better QB, PV would have been blown out. I think sTu will beat a few teams they aren't suppose to beat this year. I don't see PV winning the SWAC. I think SU has the style of play to give them a beating.

Hella' congrats to sTu. Man... Y'all stay loaded w/ talented student-athletes. sTu will beat a lot of teams this fall. Christophe's injury allowed PV to eek out a victory. Solid coaching + talented student-athletes = victories/success for sTu. Won't lie, since coach Haywood came onboard, I've been closet fanning lol. Y'all are my next best SWAC team. Good luck on the rest of the year.

PV misses Hebert something serious. Last year he was basically their entire offense.
Hebert only had 55 yards in last year's LDC. Courtney Brown led the way with 88, Green had 81, and Anderson had 50.

Seems like people forget over time but this game didn't feel a lot different from last year's in terms of our performance. The big difference was that sTu looks like a real team now and can score. Talk about a turnaround. Hats off to them. They will be something to deal with in the coming seasons.

We've got to get rid of this foot off the gas mentality and start getting it together out of the gate.

Good game sTu.

Yep, people talking smack about how the game went, but that sTu defense is pretty good and #3 from sTu is fast and powerful, they will see

After the game a lot of PV fans were saying TSU choked and that TSU came out of the half worse than they went in. I asked did you happen to notice the our QB shrank by over a foot during half time? The O line did a good job in this game. They kept pounding and the benefit started to show late in the game. Our back up came in ice cold after the half but I can't blame it all on him. The center was snapping the ball over his head damn near every snap. I was shocked to see they were no working on that on the sideline while the defense was on the field. PV is to good of a team to come right out of the half and spot them 16 points. I said 14 before but I forgot about the safety which a high snap contributed to. Although, once our back up settled in he did a much better job leading the offense. I still believe a few questionable things happened that impacted outcome of the game but that's just the way the cookie crumbles. This was a tough loss for my TIGERS players and Supporters.

TSU, at this point just seems to have some bad juju around our football team. I was really hoping we could sacrifice a panther as atonement.

Hoping this is the way it's meant to be. A when adversity struck I saw a few kids on the sideline with behavior that was concerning. I'm almost afraid it TSU had won wold some of these young me have caught a case of the big egos? This is where Coach Haywood will show what he has by how this team responds.

I can't breathe LOL

Did they ever correct this? Hell they might have avoided saying Panthers on purpose.

I think when the game resumed (after the 2nd weather delay) Dwight Man mentioned being "on the campus of Prairie View" and also commented on "the Panthers new stadium"

Folks had to account for Hebert. Maybe TSU put two people on him

Maybe TSU double teamed Hebert. Folks had to account for Hebert every play. Hebert open things up for other folks.

For obvious reasons, I picked PV to win, but I found myself really liking TXSU's Christophe! I love a mobile QB, but one who can convert downs is another plus. He has a nice arm, too, beautiful pass for that 1st TD! And the TXSU defense......looks like the 212 may be back!

Both teams were very good. Looks like my boys will be on the other end of the "Texas Two-Step"..........again.:(

There was another extremely significant occurrence during the rain delay. While probably not illegal, it certainly was not sportsman like.

Definitely an advantage for the home team.

If your starting QB would not have gotten hurt Texas Southern would have won.
