TSU parts ways with football coach Cole

Texas Southern University football coach Johnnie Cole was fired Friday afternoon in advance of an NCAA report that is expected to detail major violations committed by the program.

Defensive coordinator Kevin Ramsey was elevated to interim head coach, and a permanent replacement will be named after the 2011 season, athletic director Charles McClelland said in a release obtained by the Chronicle.

McClelland was scheduled to meet with the players at 2 p.m. Friday to inform them of the move.

When you think of it, it's even sadder that Cole is a Texas Southern alum and he threw his own institution under the bus. smh

So they are doing the same thing the Alcorn Street Committee (Yes, I am an Alcornite but not a member of the Alcorn Street Committee) did in 2008-2009 Offseason.

Why would I do that when things are looking up for Alcorn State University Athletics? Wish folks like DallasCowboysGirl could say the same about Texas Southern University though.

She's still cool in my book though because she is a Cowboys Fan. However, I will never join Pan Ti Sorority and Fraternity, Inc.

+1. I would be beyond p-ssed if anyone was doing wrong but especially a Gramblinite. I wouldn't be taking the NCAA to lightly either especially when you have a history of violations. They don't take that to lightly. Remember they have a "repeat violator" rule and it states if a second major violation occurs at any institution within five years of being on probation in the same sport or another sport, that institution can be barred from competing in the sport involved in the second violation for either one or two seasons. Not sure if i worded it right but one can grasp the picture.
