The other TSU ironically is going through something similar with the JMC but they were quickly able to find a backup venue. They also need to be investing in their home stadium
 



I agree, shameful. We bring in these jobless ( "need a job)carpetbaggers "who would not consider a hbcu for undergrad but they are now selling us out.

Believe it or not, you already know the answer. The simple truth is there has never been an administration or board of regents at my TSU that cared enough about football to make it happen.

Over the years, some alums and even others unaffiliated with the university have said and thought it was due to a number of reasons ranging from the school being land-locked, utility easement issues, high property values discouraging eminent domain, no state funding for college athletics in Texas and a prohibition against schools bonds for athletic construction.

Those are the usual reasons given, but notice who I said you normally hear that from, alums and others, not past or present administrations or boards. In the thirty-five years I've paid attention to TSU athletics, I've never heard an administration or board use those reasons as an impediment to building a stadium.

With all that said, that's why I'm of the opinion decision makers past and present at my TSU have never cared enough about football to make it happen. You asked, "What's the problem?" Well, in my opinion, that's the problem.

At least TSU is scheduled to play in Aldine ISDs stadium a couple of times … a much closer drive.

Wonder where the Southern game will be

If you're calling them out, call all of them out. BCU & JSU don't have their own stadiums. The places they play in is owned by other entities.
 
I look at it like this - everyone wants a stadium but do we know how to manage a stadium?

The days of dropping $60 million for less than 10 events a year isn't a good use of investment - you need events all year round plus outside partnerships to justify a large investment now - 20 years ago it made sense but things have changed considerably

this isn't high school where you can tax the minions and let it sit all year for a few football and soccer games or basically a glorified practice facility

I can guarantee you can’t name any entity that owns Thee Vet besides JSU. Stay focused and stop being messy.

Your focus should be on securing your own tin can stadium from random people getting in.

I thought the State of Mississippi owns it but jsu is the administrator and operator of the facility/
