please cut down on the sound of those bass drums....they are too damn loud and they cover the band up...I'm not surprised if your band is deaf after standing next to them...damn

and you don't need 7 of them....

as for this weekend...don't think no one noticed your upperclassmen trumpet section was outplyed by the crabs on that fanfare...we heard the cracked notes...

and I didn't know Groove Me is the new school song

Isn't that the same complaint people had about them last year?

Guess they haven't figured it out yet.

Funny. Long as I've known you, you've had a good ear. When did you last see the Ocean? And what game are you referring too? They didn't have this problem at the LDC or in Alabama.

This is laughable. You don't even know everyone in the section to know who's a crab and who isn't. Especially if you're talking about this past weekend.
and I didn't know Groove Me is the new school songYou still don't. And, even if you heard our school song more than you usually hear it you wouldn't know then, either.

Truthfully,
Most people post stuff about a band on the net and hype it. So when a high school kid comes on here, they can't even judge for themselves (with their own ears) whether the band is actually any good or not. And to make matters worse, they are SO far behind in what they should've learned about band and music in high school that they don't even know what's musical, what's hype, what's reality, and why bands and directors do what they do. (with inaccurate info like "your bass drums are too loud and no one has complained about that at all this year, even a band that had seen the band in question for the first in like 10 years) I think pages like this are great but even in smacking, I DON'T SEE THE TWO OF YOU MAKING ANY POINTS THAT MAKE SENSE.

just my rant and rave for today.......

Go PFVAMU......there's my smack for the day

I was at the game Saturday, the crabs and oldheads split up..the game was so boring that peope started looking at the bands...

it's too quiet at halftime...literally...when the band stopped playing between songs I was afraid to talk loud because people could hear me.

the band sounds loud but I don't think they need 7 bass drums to drown them out..

Mostly, I believe the problem is the fans. Now with the bass drums.....I own know. :spin:

Well...They started out being the business but they're getting comfortable and content with what they have already..They aren't competition material to me at all.....Yeah they were pretty good in Shreveport when they went against Jackson. I really dont think they can compare to Jackson now cause Jackson gotten stronger to me since the first week. .....But now its time they raise the bar and that is not happening with the Ocean now....I just hope they get it together in Chicago this weekend. The Ocean is a band that get comfortable real fast and begin to settle. They dont have enough songs. I was in the band when we were only half the size it is now and were alot stronger and we never ran out of songs.....I listened to them marching out of Robinson Stadium this past weekend and I didn't hear not one car alarm go off....We made alarms sound just by us sounding off...........Black and blues wasn't even loud.....they need to get it together.....Thats how I feel about "My Band".......
