Sounds like an interesting move but like another poster said, I need to see the details. If both schools can travel with their bands and return with 300K+, then this is a great move.
Why they gotta return with 300K? Do they make 300K at home? They probably lose money on home games.
Because most classics pay out about this amount, so that's just the number I threw out there. Just because you lose money on home games don't mean you schedule a game across the ocean with plans on the same result. The hope here is to make funds for your athletic department and win a football game, not just have a good time in the Bahamas.
On another note, I would have like to see the TSU logo in my sig on the advertisement.

Ummm. I would argue Bethune Cookman's Thompson, Tennessee State's Lawrence-Phillips and Hampton's Dickenson as the best AD's in the HBCU world. I didn't include WSSU's Hayes because he retired. Those would be the 4 I would argue for top three. I'll start watching this dude, but he has a lot to do to top the four mentioned.
Sounds like a vacation! I like it- looking to make the trip.

When Tarver was SU's System president, and Pete was the coach, there was a effort to get SU to play in South Africa, because of the great relationship Tarver had with folks from South Africa. It never happened though. If folks remember South Africa donated around a million dollars worth of Art to SU's art museum.
Boy it sure didn't take long for you hating ass Hens to show up in this thread...But carry on!

Are the bands going? Have a cousin at Central in the band he said he doesn't know if they're going.
"We're extremely excited to announce our partnership to play in Nassau," said TSU Director of Athletics Dr. Charles McClelland. "This game will give our fans the opportunity to watch exciting Tigers football in a city that is known as one of the premier tourist destinations in the world. This partnership will undoubtedly give us a great opportuntiy to showcase our brand of football as well as the electrifying Ocean of Soul Marching Band in a new region."
HBCUX Network, the Ministry of Tourism and both universities participated in a joint news conference in Nassau, Bahamas to announce the event. Symonds hopes to attract thousands of existing students, alumni and football enthusiasts to the inaugural Football Classic. Tickets to the game start at $25.00. HBCUX Network will be offering packages starting around $375.00 for a two-night hotel stay at the Atlantis resort, transfers, game tickets and a one month subscription to the HBCUX Network.
