It’s not so much the amount of money collected that is bothersome, although such a low number is indeed trifling and unacceptable. It’s the low amount people that care about helping their own alma mater. It’s impossible to think that only 15 people care enough about the university securing new equipment that they gave 43 dollars; it would be easier on the stomach to see 600 people giving one dollar than this pathetic showing. At least you’d know that more people cared.

Hey DUMBASS!!!!!

You do know the Texas Southern University National Alumni Association's Maroon & Grey Chapter (official athletic alumni chapter) has it's annual athletic department fundraiser going on that's totally independent from this one so surf around to find something else to write about!

Matter of fact, a Beaumont alum presented a $10,000 check to the football program at the final home game of the season.

ASSHOLE!!!!!

Any half ass so called "professional" journalist would contact a university official or alumni representative (namely the alumni president) to get his or her side of the story but you did none of the above but write this bullshit.

Get him.....lol..........

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this particular fundraiser was commissioned by the TSU athletic department. http://fanraiser.org/tsucause/2009/08/18/texas-southern-athletics-goes-viral-with-fanraiser-org/

I doubt that it was a lack of promotion on their end, as the national alumni association knew about it to post it on its homepage, and the link has been posted on the TSU Sports homepage and formally announced on their site.

http://www.tsu.edu/pages/3467.asp?nid=8712

So, don't be mad at the messenger. Be mad at folks having plenty of access to knowing about the fundraiser, and choosing to ignore it. And by the way; in the time it took you to find the largest font you could to curse me out, you could've easily given five dollars to your school. I did. It's real simple.
:)

Our alumni are going to CONTINUE to give to the university in the manner that they have always given ANNUALLY thru TSUNAA's various alumni chapters and/or Dr. Rudley's Campaign.

This FanRaiser idea came up as recent as summer 2009 and "OUR" alumni are creatures of habit to where they give thru instruments that they are familiar with and have built relationships with.

Not saying that anything is wrong with FanRaiser (which is why the university approved it and the AA agreed to list it on it's website) however, people namely alumni are going to give thru who they have already established a relationship with over the decades.

Just do your research with Indiana University's Philanthropy Department to understand.

Texas Southern alumni are taking care of it's alma mater in ways they have historically done.

But if you want to take this shit any further call me at (281) 844-0619 which you should have done so in the first place.

That reporter is a HBCU hater, I know because I've read and listen to his sports talk show where he talks bad about most HBCU's and what is sad is that he is getting paid to do so. I remember about two years ago, he reported on JSU alumni but he didn't tell ya'll that from JSU's 50 million campaign, they have raised 33 million, which is great. That clown needs to be taken off the air and especially discussing swac business, I pay attention to what people say and he does bad mouth the swac alot, but he never discuss the positive things. GET HIM CLEB, oh and I know how to contact his boss, p.m. me if you need his info.

C-LeB28,

Smirk!! He is trying!! Teach him and us all, my brother. Keep working on the behalf of Texas Southern University and Black Colleges in general.

Im one of those alumni that gives out of habit, 99% of the money I given to my school has been through National Alumni Assoc or Maroon&Grey.

Here's the thing; my show will actually be celebrating its one year anniversary this Thursday, so as for you hearing me hate on SWAC schools in 2007, it's impossible. And if you think I hate on SWAC schools all day, go back and check my interviews with Doug Williams, the attorney for Ernest Jones, or the show where I commending the SWAC for setting the standard for football marketing.

Finally, I don't get paid to do the show. In fact, I pay to produce it. That's how much I love black college sports. And I don't have a boss. So there's one thing you told the truth about; you know how to contact me, because I am my own boss.

Either you've been listening to the wrong show, or you're frontin' for a thread. Either way, I would suggest actually checking the site and show for more accurate info.

pleaze,

Alot of hbcu fans know u full of shat and you won't make it if you are on here arguing back and forth with the fans. I just wanted you to respond and you do get paid for what u do stop lying. Here is a little advice, any smart good mass comm/report/columnist knows that pissed off readers can break U. just keep yo report fair, accurate and neutral.

First off, I would advise that you check the [email protected] email address, Emailing that address was my first order of business prior to posting the piece. Secondly, clear your voicemail box if you are going to have your chest out on a thread and then not receive my call.

Would love nothing more than to talk about this with civility and common purpose, but frankly, your attitude is poor. And quite unbecoming of a TSU alumni officer.
