Texas high school UIL (district) reclassifications/realignments.

I don't know zb7. Maybe someone can point it out if I'm overlooking it.

I look some of those districts over and I'm almost speechless. For instance, the Cypress related schools are so plentiful until they form their own district, the # of Dallas city schools who are now 3A :shame:, and I sorta' watched how certain districts (Northwest-Justin) evolved from a lowly 3A to a really, really massive 5A and I expect them and Guyer to be a power really soon, football wise, if they can get past monster Southlake Carroll. Talk about top notch facilities. :what:

I never liked that D1/D2 mess. Just create a Class 6A or something

Storm I was thinking the same thing... Smh. That was all folks were talking about Monday morning in the district... I didn't start class until I knew what was the outcome... Glad we stayed put... We gonna have to do something better to keep that number 999 from falling.. Oh well at least we stay 4A two more years COUGAR NATION!! (Off (Topic) Check out the basketball team!!!

We've had our own district for several years now. The thing I hate is that the 2 new schools should be 4A and not 5A. They don't have the numbers but requested a waiver to stay with the rest of the school district. We now have a 10 team district, so in football we will play 9 district games and 1 non-district game for the season. We use to play only 7 district games and 3 non-district games. They also moved us from Region II to Region III, which puts in the area of most of the Houston area schools instead of being with Austin area schools. Less travel when playoffs get here.

Willowridge stays 5A.....we've been 4A for 8 years now....the school 2 miles awar, Marshall, has 4A numbers also

Fort Bend football is a joke and how they let one of the most dominant programs in the state dwindle is simply amazing

I think they keep all 10 district schools at 5A to save money. It sucks but it is what it is. They will have an 11th school in a couple of years. Maybe then they'll drop a few down to 4A.

I don't understand this reclassification stuff every two years. It completely DESTROYS rival games and sometimes it simply makes NO SENSE.

Take for instance Desoto. Desoto was in a 5A district a few years ago with Cedar Hill and Duncanville. Both towns are border cities to Desoto. With this and the last re-districting, Desoto is now in a district with EAST TEXAS schools, which are more than 100 miles away!

If they can keep Cypress schools together, why not keep Duncanville, Cedar Hill, and Desoto schools together.

The schools can opt down but they get strong-armed by the district.....HISD's stadium is closer to Willowridge than the Sugar Land and we used to play there....that moves more sense economically also as people prefer to see HISD/Ridge versus Ridge and new suburban school

Makes sense.

I just read where Marshall had 22 players sign LOI's today. They went 2-7 this past season. That shows how much talent is there even with under 1500 students.

When you have one high school-all your talent will be there. So even if that team went 2-7, I'm a college-I know they did that with the best players the town has to offer.
